Pokémon Legends: Z-A receives its first expansion with the release of the Mega Dimension DLC, though you don’t need to own it to obtain Baxcalibrite and unlock Mega Baxcalibur.
Mega Baxcalibur is one of the new Mega Evolutions introduced in the Mega Dimension DLC of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, though the mechanics of the game mean you won’t need to purchase the DLC to obtain any of the returning Pokémon added in the content drop.

Where to Find Baxcalibrite & Get Mega Baxcalibur in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Baxcalibrite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is only obtainable through competing in Ranked Online during Season 4 of the game. Though yet to be confirmed, it’s expected you will need to reach Rank S in the season to earn the Mega Stone.
Season 4 will begin after the conclusion of Season 3, where Chesnaughtite is the main available reward, which is slated to end on December 18.
Before Season 4 begins, it will be impossible to obtain Mega Baxcalibur legitimately, though you don’t need to purchase the Mega Dimension DLC to earn the item, or to have Baxcalibur in your party. Any player can receive Baxcalibur, or any other Pokémon added in the DLC, through trading.
There will be other opportunities to earn Baxcalibrite and Mega Baxcalibur in the future, however, but participating in Ranked Battles may always be required.
Will Baxcalibrite be Available Again?
Yes, Baxcalibrite, like other Mega Stones initially distributed through Ranked Online, will be available again in the future, likely following a similar redemption path as other Mega Stones.
In Season 3, Greninjite and Delophoxite, the main rewards from Season 1 and 2, were distributed at much lower ranks, so it’s likely that Baxcalibrite will be distributed in a future season in a similar approach.
Don’t expect to be able to obtain Baxcalibrite through traditional gameplay, however, as it seems the Mega Stones distributed through Ranked will remain exclusive to online battles.
This does mean that you won’t be able to obtain all the Mega Evolution Pokémon in Legends: Z-A without a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
