Activision and Treyarch are back with Black Ops 7, the latest Call of Duty blockbuster. It’s two years running for Treyarch, and the developer is bringing a monstrous amount of content for you all to get stuck into. Find out how to preload Black Ops 7 so you’re ready to go at launch.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 isn’t going to have it all its own way in 2025. With Battlefield 6 and ARC Raiders providing stiff competition in the shooter genre, Treyarch needs to come flying out of the blocks. A ton of Launch Weapons and Equipment, the biggest opening seasonal roadmap ever, and a stacked Zombies mode will help with that.
You can now preload Black Ops 7. To do so, we’ve got you covered with our in-depth guide.
How To Download & Preload Black Ops 7

To preload Black Ops 7 and download it to your format of choice, simply purchase any digital edition of Black Ops 7, make sure you have enough free space on your hard drive, and wait for the installation to complete.
Black Ops 7 preloads went live on November 10, four days before launch. This is a fairly standard procedure, as it allows you to free up space (more on this below), get the game installed, and you can relax in your favorite recliner, waiting for the game to go live.

Despite speculation, there is no campaign or Zombies early access. Everyone gets to dive into BLOPS 7 at the same time (region-dependent), and we can all enter the fray together!
Black Ops 7 File Sizes on PlayStation, Xbox & PC, Explained
To have everything installed at once, including COD HQ, Black Ops 7 is anywhere between 100 GB and about 300 GB.
Call of Duty carries on its history of bloated file sizes with Black Ops 7. Now, this isn’t a universal file size, as you can individually install and uninstall gameplay components you don’t want: Campaign, Zombies, and Multiplayer.
This is unconfirmed, as there are conflicting file size reports, but Xbox users seem to be getting the short end of the stick. It’s reported that Xbox players are potentially facing nearly 300 GB of data to download and store: Campaign, Zombies, Multiplayer, and Warzone.
This means if you’re a fan of your battle royale, you’ll also need to factor in an additional near-80 GB for Warzone on top of the original 200 GB!
If you can wipe the tears from your eyes for one second, let’s show you a breakdown of the reported file sizes for Black Ops 7 across the major platforms.
| Black Ops 7 Platform | File Size |
|---|---|
| PlayStation | 96.677 GB |
| Xbox | 214.8 GB |
| PC | 162.45 GB |
Let us know how many GB your platform is asking for. There definitely seems to be some discrepancies across the board, depending on what content you’ve got installed already. Head to the Insider Gaming Discord Server and share your findings.
