Battlefield 6’s regular drop of content has begun with the start of season 1, highlighted by the launch of the long-awaited REDSEC Battle Royale, which includes tanks to utilize—and we’ve got all the details on how to get your hands on one.
Fresh from the latest patch, Battlefield REDSEC Battle Royale adds a fresh mode to the game, alongside seasonal content like a new battle pass, and brings Battlefield further into a direct rivalry with Call of Duty.
If you’re on the hunt for a tank in REDSEC Battle Royale, we’ve got a breakdown of how you can instantly upgrade your arsenal.
How to Get Tanks in REDSEC Battle Royale

Tanks in Battlefield REDSEC Battle Royale are not randomly found on the map, and instead, there are missions to complete to unlock the powerful vehicles.
While playing REDSEC Battle Royale, a prompt will periodically appear showing you nearby missions to complete, which provide valuable rewards and experience. These are particularly important early in the game, as the weapons and rewards they issue are significantly better than the majority of loot you will uncover.
Only one mission can be completed at a time, with a choice of three random missions provided. As far as we know, these missions appear randomly, and there is no way to guarantee a mission that provides a tank as a reward, but we’ll update this article if we discover otherwise.
Keep an eye out for the available rewards from missions, particularly for a ‘Vehicle Keycard’. For us, this appeared as ‘Superior’ loot, with a golden background, making it clear that this was a top-tier reward. Here’s a quick breakdown of the full process.
- Check your missions for rewards that provide a Vehicle Keycard.
- Complete the designated mission with your squad to collect your rewards and pick up the Vehicle Keycard.
- Head to the Garage marked on your map.
- Use the Vehicle Keycard to earn access to a tank.
You may be able to find Vehicle Keycards as random loot in Battlefield REDSEC, but this is not confirmed at this stage. We’ll update this article when we’re certain.
Remember, this method only applies to standard REDSEC modes in Battlefield, and community-created experiences through the Portal may be different—as players could create a Battle Royale mode exclusively for tanks, giving everyone the ultimate weapon of warfare.
