Gauntlet Mode brings a faster-paced edge to Battlefield 6’s more traditional BR, and the REDSEC game mode variation is a lot of fun, more so if you know how it works and how to win.
REDSEC has dropped in with its core battle royale adventure. Whereas Gauntlet Mode is attached to REDSEC, but it’s a different team-based beast where you’re left breathless for the entire game. Quickfire matches and concentrated objectives mean you need to work together, or risk elimination.
This explainer runs through the whole setup, what missions you can face, and how to progress without even winning. Also, if you haven’t already, you can buy Battlefield 6 through Amazon.
How Does Gauntlet Mode Work In Battlefield 6 REDSEC?

Battlefield 6’s Gauntlet Mode splits you into a handful of smaller teams, and you need to score enough points in each mission until you’re the last team left standing.
Before we get into this deeper, check out the key fundamentals of Gauntlet Mode:
- It’s team-based gameplay.
- You score points for eliminations.
- You also score points for completing mission parameters.
- You need to be in the top few teams of each mission to advance to the next one.
- If you’re not, your squad is eliminated.
- The top player of losing squads has a chance of being redeployed to one of the progressing teams.
- There are infinite respawns.
- No circle.
- Each mission is different.
Think of Gauntlet like a more objective-based Rebirth Island from Warzone. There are battle royale-esque elimination components, but with smaller maps, respawning, and no circle.
The first mission features eight squads, the second mission has six squads, then it’s cut down to four squads for number three, and then it’s an all-out war between the final teams in mission four.
How Do You Win Gauntlet Mode In Battlefield 6 REDSEC Battle Royale?

Your team must constantly progress through each mission by completing objectives and being one of the top-scoring teams, and then you must prevail in the final round to win Gauntlet in Battlefield 6 REDSEC.
In our matches, we’ve encountered the same few missions: Decryption, Deadlock, Extraction, etc. They involve securing and decrypting beacons, capturing and holding zones for points, and extracting data drives.
Here’s every mission type you can get at random through all four stages:
- Circuit
- Contract
- Deadlock
- Decryption
- Extraction
- Heist
- Vendetta
- Wreckage
Certain types are restricted to different stages of the overall Gauntlet match. Make no mistake: Each playthrough is different, and the missions will be random, for the most part. Points are also doubled in the last minute of any mission. So, a kill (usually worth one point) becomes two, and so forth.
Complete all four of your randomly assigned missions and win the final objective for your team to be the victor of Gauntlet Mode.
Tips To Win Gauntlet Mode In Battlefield 6 REDSEC
Stick with your teammates, revive them, play the objective, and use cover to move around the map slyly to give yourself the best chances of winning Gauntlet Mode.
Move With Caution
Every time you die, you delay your team’s chances of succeeding. One fewer body to revive allies, one fewer body to help win gunfights, and one fewer body to score points. Don’t run around in the open: Use cover, use the shadows, try and get to a decent vantage point above, if possible, and play smart—this is not Call of Duty.
Play The Objective!
Throw your KD out of the window. No one cares if you go 10-0 if another team dies a lot, but holds consoles, extracts data, and decrypts beacons to win the game while you lose. Yes, you MIGHT get through as a reassignment (more on this later), but don’t risk it. Do whatever the objective tells you to do, and guarantee points instead of risking it all in one engagement after another.
Revives & Teamwork
Play as a Support, have the Defibrillator on stand-by, and be ready to revive your downed teammates. This links back to ‘Move With Caution.’ The more you all stay alive, the better your chances of being victorious—it’s as simple as that. Stick together, communicate well, and operate as a unit, not as individuals.
Every Gauntlet Mission & How It Works in Battlefield 6 REDSEC
There are eight different types of missions in Battlefield 6’s REDSEC mode, and each one has a different objective type you need to clear to push on to the next round.
Here’s every mission in Battlefield 6 Gauntlet, and how it entails.
| Gauntlet Mission Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Circuit | Earn points by capturing and holding control consoles. |
| Contract | You get one point for a kill, one point per revive, and fifteen points for a full squad wipe. Eliminate all members of a team at the same time to automatically eliminate them from Gauntlet. |
| Deadlock | Secure and control zones to earn points. |
| Decryption | Pick up Beacons, don’t die whilst holding them, wait for the decryption counter to reach 0, and score big points for your team. |
| Extraction | Gather data from marked spots and deliver to a drone to extract—drones have a cooldown after use. |
| Heist | In Heist, two squads must claim objectives from enemy confines and successfully bring them back to their own starting zone. This is essentially Capture The Flag. |
| Vendetta | The first person to get a kill becomes the HVT. Whoever is the HVT earns points for staying alive. A HVT’s exact location is constantly pinged on the map. |
| Wreckage | Find and detonate bombs at locations marked on the map. |
Can You Progress Without Winning In Battlefield 6 Gauntlet Mode?

You have a chance to automatically progress to the next mission and be reassigned to another advancing team if any squad has space in its roster, and you were the top points scorer in your eliminated squad.
This is a great incentive to play well. If your teammates aren’t the best, you can take solace in the fact that a fine individual performance can gift you a reprieve. That’s happened to me in one of my early games as I bossed Mission 2 by scoring many points in Deadlock by holding down zones. Even though my team lost, I advanced and was reassigned to another team!
So never give up hope in Gauntlet Mode!
