Escape From Duckov is a familiar extraction shooter on the face of things. It has crucial differences, such as its top-down perspective and the obvious inclusion of ducks, but we’re checking to see how much Escapre From Duckov costs—if anything, because many of you don’t seem to know if it’s free-to-play or not.
Team Soda took something great, changed up its aesthetic, and threw in a lot of ducks for good measure. The result has equated to a game that has sold 1 million copies in under a week. Escape From Duckov has defied all expectations and gone from being a funny-sounding game on paper to a best-seller.
We raved about it in our Escape from Duckov preview, and if you want information on its price and free-to-play status, you can stop quacking about it.
Is Escape From Duckov Free To Play?

Escape From Duckov is unfortunately not a free-to-play shooter, and you need to pluck some coins out of your account if you want to see what Team Soda has created.
We do think this could have been a big difference maker in the David vs Goliath battle between Escape From Duckov and Escape From Tarkov. However, the game isn’t free-to-play, and given its early sales data, it was probably a smart decision.
Tarkov demands a reasonable, but still hefty-ish price tag. Escape From Duckov also asks for a fee, but it’s not as bad, and if you jump on the hype train early, you can get it for an even more attractive price.
How Much Does Escape From Duckov Cost?
Buying the normal edition of Escape From Duckov will set you back $17.99 or £17.99, but the game does have a special introductory price if you purchase it in the game’s first two weeks of sale.
It’s not often you write the word introDUCKtory and it’s funny, but here we are. You can grab 12% off the initial RRP if you procure Escape From Duckov between October 16 and October 30—bringing it down to $15.83 and £15.83, respectively.
After this, it goes back up to full price. Whenever you purchase it, you will be BILLed. Now that you have your information and you’re fed up with duck puns, it’s time to get into the comments and the Insider Gaming Discord.
Do you think Escape From Duckov would’ve benefitted even more from being free-to-play and having cheap microtransactions? Or, in hindsight, was this the right call from Team Soda? Share all your thoughts with us.
