Microsoft Tries To Defend Xbox Game Pass Price Increase

A day after Microsoft announced a 50% price increase for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the company is attempting to defend the decision while saying that it understands the frustration from players.

While speaking with The Verge, Microsoft’s director of gaming and platform communications Dustin Blackwell spoke about the move and said it’s something they didn’t “take lightly” as a company.

“We understand price increases are never fun for anybody, but we’re trying to reinforce by adding more value to these plans as well,” Blackwell said. “It’s something we don’t take lightly, and we’re listening to the feedback of players and the community to try to provide them with more of what they’re asking for.”

Blackwell also spoke about what the service is now providing players across it’s multiple tiers. Blackwell touted the increase to the game library, cloud gaming, and day one releases.

“We’re also now giving access to more than 75 day one releases each year,” he said. “That’s a 50 percent increase over the day one titles we provided last year.”

He also pointed to the Ubisoft+ Classics and Fortnite Crew additions as another added benefit for players with this new cost.

In addition to the Game Pass Ultimate price increase, Microsoft raised the cost of PC Game Pass from $11.99 to $16.49 per month. Both PC Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers will get day one releases. Those on the Premium plan will get first-party Xbox games within a year of launch, except for Call of Duty.

  • Nop, I won’t. And I’ll probably sell my Series X. I initially bought an Xbox for Forza Horizon. Obviously I then played other games, but that was the game that made me buy a Series S that I later traded for X.
But since many exclusives are coming to PlayStation, and the 5 Pro is my main console, with that in mind I’ll probably sell my Series X now if they go ahead with this decision.

  • I’ve been with Xbox since the beginning PlayStation since the beginning Nintendo since the beginning, all their prices are going up. The sad fact is that PlayStation’s already announced another price increase after the last one that we just had not that long ago that we’re getting another one pretty soon because the drivers Are just driving to the new tears even though the cost is going up so they’re talking around another $10-$12 a month with PlayStation so PlayStation in the Xbox are gonna be the same price pretty soon

  • I’m done with game pass, but I won’t be selling my Series X, as I have a pretty decent movie library and a really big back log to play. That being said I’m definitely done with Xbox moving forward. I used to defend them like crazy, but after laying off all those workers, shutting down studios, canceling games, raising prices of their consoles twice, releasing super expensive handhelds, and now raising game pass ultimate by 50%, after an extremely profitable year, tells me they don’t care about gamers anymore. I won’t switch to Playstation either. I sold my PS5 earlier this year because they weren’t releasing the types of games I liked, like during the PS4 generation. I may just have to get a Steamdeck

  • Yeah I’m out too 360 a year is far too much for A Gamefly like service especially since you only Rent the game you don’t own anything… they can keep Gamepiss selling my Series X

  • Yeah I’ve had gamepasss from the beginning. Most of the games I already own. And for the day 1 releases well, they want you to pay extra for the day 1 release, we actually get em on day 3. And most of them are garbage. Only a handful are worth it. Just gonna get a ps5 and play it on there anyway and save save save!!!

  • I think even with a response Microsoft has found themselves in a pretty bad nightmare scenario. The situation is that people like me, a consumer in the game market, see a another $30 a month subscription for what’s just a glorified rental service, and I said pass. Game pass was a great bargain at the $18.99 price point where you could try out a good number of games, and just buy the ones you like or keep access to more casual games. This and increasing the price of the consoles, on top of the Xbox losing the Microsoft store ability to purchase movies, were getting no real value as a consumer compared to all other options as a market. They bought up a lot of publishers, sure, but what good are 75 new games when only 5 are good and you only have time for 3 at most, and 2 of those games won’t be good for cross play because your on Game Pass and didn’t buy the game.

  • It’s absolutely rediculous. All time profits, let’s hack prices 50% again.

I used to pay 60 bucks a year for Xbox live to be able to play with friends, and never batted at eye at 5 bucks a month, or the cost of 1 game per year to have that service. I don’t even buy games at full price anymore, and usually wait for a sale at like 30 bucks or less to buy anything, because everything keeps getting more expensive, and games keep getting worse. So now you want me to pay the price of a game EVERY MONTH? Just to play with friends and occasionally try a game that looks like it could be neat, only to be disappointed 5 hours in? Nah. I’m only still paying for Xbox live at this point because I can’t convince my friends to get PCs, but at this point I’m about to ditch Xbox and go full PC. And NO I won’t be buying PC gamepass either. These subscriptions are cancerous, and do not deliver anywhere near enough “value”

  • A price point of $30 a month is absolutely ridiculous Yes they say 75 games a year but guess what most of these games are junk and you might have five a year that are actually worth your time so yeah I’m done with Xbox

  • They aren’t listening to anyone’s feedback. They are defending their price increase over fortnite crew and ubisoft + I play fortnite but I could care less about getting the dumb passes for free. And ubisoft just drops ancient old games that everyone has played a million times over. how the hell is that something to defend? Bring more actual good games. Pay the developers that make the games more. That would be something to defend about. Corporate greed is all I see. Pitiful.

  • Yeah I cancelled mine last night. Ain’t no way I’m taking a 40% increase. Especially since I am not getting anything extra out of it. I dont own an Xbox because why in the world would I. So them increasing the PC price without adding anything to the tier is crazy. Especially if they are gonna use Fortnite extra content as a driver. 💸

  • All these people selling their Series X consoles and giving up on Gamepass is crazy to me. Trust me I am NOT happy about the price increase but for my wife and I Gamepass is still the best value in gaming. I do think $30/month is too much, they should’ve kept Fortnite Crew out and raised the price to $25 but either way, I still think Gamepass is the best value in gaming, it allows my wife and I to play games we’d normally not have the money to play. I’m glad I have a Series X, I’m glad my wife has a Series S. We also own a PlayStation 5 for the few exclusives I enjoy from PlayStation but my Series X is still my favorite console, I’ll still subscribe to Gamepass but I’ll most likely drop to premium until they drop the BS from Ultimate and lower the price.

  • Dropping down to Premium Game Pass.
I like the Assassin’s Creed titles from Ubisoft, but already own half of them and I’m not interested in Fortnite crap. Love my Xbox X, but like others here are saying $360 a year is stupid. I own Division 2 and bought BF6 and don’t play CoD at all. Microsoft shooting themselves in the foot with this one…..

  • I mean I take it like this, if you can’t afford an extra $10 then you honestly need to reevaluate your gaming needs. There are three different tiers that people can go to that fits all budgets so for people to be complaining about this shows that they are not only not the smartest when it comes to how subscriptions services works OR they just want to complain just to be complaining. It’s the same when Netflix does a price increase, people want to complain but yet Netflix provides multiple options for people who have different financial needs. Pick a plan tier that works for you, But either way a $10 increase I wanted the premier plans is definitely worth it.

  • I too am canceling my game pass subscription. I’ve been a loyal Xbox person since they first came out now they have lost me for life. Like other commenters have stated with all the layoffs the way they don’t listen to their customers the 50% price hike. it’s just way too much. I think if everybody canceled. We would get our point across and as far as I’m concerned Microsoft can suck it

  • I wont resubscribing to Gamepass! I’m going to buy myself a gaming laptop and use steam! Fck Xbox and their greed

  • 100% game pass is canceled. Xbox is getting sold for a ps5 next. People, including myself, are fed up with companies making everything subscription based and removing the choice to own anything. Xbox used to give a shit about their players and gamers as a whole, now they’re actively trying to make it worse.

  • I would love to stay, but for that price, it really won’t be easy. Rather than give us 75 day one games a year, why dont they actually start bringing over playstations games like God of War or Spider Man. I mean Microsoft has allowed Sony to get some of their games only meant for Xbox, so why not do the same and get some of their games which everybody wants to play. They will probably see an increase in sales on Game Pass and a lot of members actually choosing to stay because of that.

  • What’s funny you can buy game pass ultimate in a lot of online stores for 19.99 but through Xbox it’s 29.99. So I bought a 12 month digital card and saved 120

  • Good on Microsoft for defending the price increase.

Like Microsoft/Xbox i’m gonna defend my decision on cancelling the services. Gonna stop buying XGP for my brother and better just buying him the game directly instead for the same 30usd they charging me for.

  • I have had every xbox….I have had live and game pass all along. My wife and I are 55+ and game on weekends. We enjoy the different options game pass provides. But this increase for nothing different is too much and unjustified. Maybe I will down grade and maybe I will just quit all together, I don’t know yet. I have a month to decide, but i will not be paying top tier for certain.

  • I have gamepass ultimate because I stocked up on Xbox live ultimate hack they had a few years back. I have it until June of 2026. That will definitely be the end of game pass for me. Nearly the cost of half a game and you don’t get to keep it is crazy expensive.

  • I hate the point MS and some people try to make. They added extra value so it worth. No its only extra value if you want it. Its extra value if its included day 1 of service not years later. Its extra value if i dont lose perks i want if i go down a tier. I dont care to play ubisoft games quite often. And i 100% dont care about a fortnite battle pass. I have touched fortnite since 2017. There wasnt even a battle pass when i played fortnite. fornite only had 4 skins when i played. I dont give a damn about it. Take that stuff out.

  • Its 10 extra $ in a world where everything is becoming more expensive. At least they tried to offer more value with it. Am I happy…no. will I cancel gamepass….he’ll no. I have plenty of subscriptions I will gladly cancel something else….yall are to much 😆

  • Nope I am absolutely not supporting the price hike. I’ll save my money and actually buy the games I want.

  • Notice they sent Dustin Blackwell but not Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, or Matt Booty to talk to the press after the hugely negative response.

  • I’ve had Xbox live since 2003, now it’s to time change even though I’ve always hated PS players.. Seems like it’s time to join them.

  • I’ll be downgrading to the lower tier. $20 a month for ultimate was fine for a fun time and a splurge but raising it 50% makes it feel like an actual bill. The “value” they’re trying to pass off as worthy just isn’t in my opinion.

  • I have $2,000 in movies from Microsoft and $5,000. in games. I Xbox’s biggest fan. But this is the last straw. There’s no excuse!! It’s just greed and corruption. I getting rid of all things Zbox. Everything. I might even get rid of my computer too. Get rid of anything Microsoft. I’ll buy an Apple computer. I hope China makes a new software to replace Microsoft.

  • I play my PlayStation more now a days. I’m good. Been with Xbox since 2010. Nothing last forever. Farewell you greedy bastard of a company.

  • I’ve had Games Pass from the start and just cancelled it, these days I’m playing other systems a great deal more so I cannot justify keeping it going when the price has gone up by so much.

  • I’m seriously considering canceling.
I’ve been with Xbox Live from the start (20+ years). Forza is like my Madden, I look forward to every new iteration. That looks like it’s not going to be every other year anymore. 50% increase? The added value is very subjective, so m not wanting more. If 1 out of 3 people cancel they still make the same amount of money.
That doesn’t feel ok to me.

  • This is very hard for me as I and my kids play a lot. I have two major issues with this. One, the price increase is too high. Id understand going to $25 but $30 is too much. My second major issue with the price increase and plans… I have the highest tier but may go down to the cheaper. My reasoning is because I have two Xbox systems but not a PC. So I could care less about PC gamepass included. Give me the option to just do consol and cloud with a cheaper price point and I’d be happy.

  • Nope… When my PC Pass expires I will just buy the few games I play. I typically play one game until I get sick of it then move on to a different game.

  • Microsoft is a billionaire corporation. And like many other billionaire pros, they fucking the regular hard working out of money when we hurting the most. Dick billionaires just like dick billionaire in office. We can barely afford groceries, and rent , and utilities. So let’s gouge gamers for more. Gates might sucking the same Jew dick trump is gagging on. Who knows.

  • Wow I’ve had every Xbox and may have to sell my series X. I play 1 to 2 games a month ,mostly COD and I don’t care for Ubisoft games , I will put mine up to sell if I can’t play what I want for $20 , I could have taken a few dolar increase , but to play you have to purchase all these PKGs with skins and guns to have a chance , Can only play 1’game at a time , crazy and i will sell my x !!!! Greed I’ve spent $80 in perks for COD6 , their making a boatload of money from these skins andguns ,shake my head ,

  • I have already cancelled my ultimate. I have been with Xbox since the days of the Xbox360 but this finally broke me as a customer.

  • Cancelled today. Been paying for some kind of service from Xbox since they launched the Xbox live. They have absolutely destroyed any perceived value you’d have. Most games have been trash fo years and the ones I’d want to play are either free or not available on game pass anyway. I can buy last year’s Madden for less than $30. The series X will likely be my last Xbox. I’m tired of seeing record profits followed by price gouging.

  • Seriously, who the hell came here to defend microsoft?? Company plants? Seems to me the sentiment is the same with all gamers. Don’t assume the decision is “because we can’t afford another 10 dollars”. There is justification for it. It is greed. Full stop. I don’t give a shit about fortnite. Or ubisoft collection of games I have no desire to revisit. I have been loyal to xbox for about 16 years. Done. It’ll be $50 a month by 2026. Maybe if enough people move on they will realize they messed up. Money talks, anything else is falling on deaf ears.

  • Price increase is one thing but I fail to see added value. Ubisoft is a trashcan library. And no one on my friendlist of over 50 active daily players none of them play fortnite. So don’t add some crap no one asked for to justify your increase.

  • They knew what the reaction would be but went ahead anyway. Meaning they didnt give a toss about their customer base, thought their customers would be dumb enough to pay it. That worked out well !

  • Strange, how Tariffs work 🙄.

(Reuters) – Microsoft said on Friday it is raising the prices of its Xbox gaming consoles in the U.S. for a second time this year, as the cloud giant’s video game division grapples with tariff-induced cost pressures, strong competition and uncertain spending.

  • I told my boyfriend that I’ll get a PC, but my Xbox will still be my main platform because it’s “cheaper with gamepass”. I think I might just make the PC my main platform and not pay for any gamepass instead.

  • How about interviewing or focus groups before raising prices for what we want…Microsoft yet again just forcing their way and just like their updates, fix it as they go…but do they ever really fix it?

  • I agree. Don’t play enough to justify a 50% hike. Next they will try and put in ads like amazon video.

I will keep my xbox just for hitman 3 but lamepass will be my last experience with subscription.

  • After the greed of the all the big 3 console makers, Steam has a golden opportunity to win over the gamers. Only good option imo.

  • Nope canceled game pass ultimate for my xbox series x after 21 years of playing Xbox. Canceled Xbox pc . Hello STEAM , FREE GAMES WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION YOU SAY .. yes please

  • If they added wow subscription to the cost, they would have many happy people, or if they made where you can just pay 5buck extra to get wow subscription. I’d be happy.

  • Inflation average in US, while higher lately, has still been an average of 4-4.5% a year over the past 5 years. This XGP is a 50% increase. And don’t tell us the value add is what we asked for. If that’s the case, keep the Ultimate tier at $20 or a moderate increase of $1-2 if you need to fight inflation. If you want to add a $30 option that no one asked for, call it something else but don’t eliminate the option/price most were ok with. Corporate greed is a real thing and we need to stop supporting it.

  • I cancelled my gamepass. I’ll just buy the game I want to play. The folks that can afford such a hefty subscription don’t have the time to play all new game launches.

  • I not sure what everyone is complaining about Ive had game pass since the beginning and Ive never paid full price, yes the price is going up but I am still not going to pay full price.

  • Had gamepass from the start and continued on with ultimate till about 2 months ago when all my subs became unsustainable. I downgraded to core so I can continue playing games online and thats been rolled into the “essential” tier which now includes cloud gaming so I’ll stick with that for a bit but I will now never go back to Ultimate and am gonna call it when gta 6 comes out as the end of my time with Xbox. Im looking into the steam deck as my next go to, provided I can get a good deal. I got an xbox backlog a mile long and enough pc games across multiple generations that I won’t be running out of entertainment any time soon.

  • Microsoft is hiking prices by forcing benefits nobody asked for. Ubisoft Classics, EA Play, and Fortnite Crew are not things people wanted. The vast majority of subscribers are now stuck paying more for things they will never use on top of never playing 90% of the slop GamePass offers already. They’ve gutted their Rewards program more and more over the last few years and they once again gutted their conversion rates.

This could potentially be solved by introducing dynamic pricing and allow subscribers to customize their benefits. I don’t want Ubisoft Classics, EA Play or Fortnite Crew and neither do most others. We should be able to remove these benefits to pay a lower price while still maintaining Day 1 releases and expanded catalogue.

  • Xbox live. Xbox live gold. Game Pass. I’ve stuck with 16-18 yrs. I’m done. I’ve already drifted back towards PC gaming just going to switch faster.

  • Your games are not worth almost 400 a year to rent. You (xbox) have just cut your own throats. Ubisoft isn’t worth it and not even half as good as you think. I played maybe 4 titles or of all your library because most are F rated games (Failure). You bought up all these companies and disbanded them, then you charge us outrageous prices for your Dumb ass moves. I was ok with even 20 a month but you almost doubled your price on top of charging top dollar for games your company owns. You are ripping off players. I have been worth you since the beginning of xbox and now that relationship is ending. Sad day for xbox. Time to go broke. High price systems, games and now gamepass. You have ruined gaming. Good bye.

  • Like many others, I just don’t have the appetite for xbox game pass in the first place. I was already concerned when they bought Bethesda because I don’t like anything from that studio really except for titles from the iD studio side of things.

Then they bought Activision and I groaned again. Obviously Activision covers a lot more, so there’s a bit there I could maybe enjoy, but I knew I wouldn’t like the eventual price for access.

Now they shuttered studios and layed off others in some of the few studios they have that I actually cared about.

Added a bunch of new content I definitely have no interest in (ubisoft catalog is the very definition of filler, and fortnite, really??).

What is goofy to me is I feel like they don’t even understand the target market that is able to pay $30/mo. Hint: it isn’t little Timmy and his fortnite crew.

I’m still dutifully paying for the other streaming services on max plans, but this one delivers the least value for me, so it’s gonna have to go. Leaving me with little to no reason to keep owning a series X, since I already have a gaming pc and ps5 pro.

  • I canceled over a year ago with no regrets. I paid for it monthly for over 2 years and barely used it. I have all consoles and a gaming pc. I haven’t touched my Xbox in so long its basically just a decoration at this point. Mostly use my pc or ps5. Any past games I tried to play on Xbox run better on pc or ps5 without chat restrictions. And exclusives on xbox have mostly been a disappointment.

  • I downgraded to premium. It sounds more like the original Game Pass service which always was sufficient for me. I like to try new games and several have been great experiences I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I have never played a game on Day 1, or Month 1, for that matter

  • Got the ultimate for my grandkids but dropping down to premium for a while.Oldest one has a PC now so may drop the pass altogether and go with steam. It’s a shame cause especially kids have to be punished for corporate greed. It’s bad enough when they grow up and find life nowadays is a bed of thorns. They don’t stand a chance and people blame all the bad things on kids when they haven’t even fun stuff to look forward to.

  • I don’t see the justification for the price increase. These greedy corps claim each quater that they break record profit. Yet then blame some unrelated event to the gaming industry to say it is effecting us hence the price increase, then when thats over call for another price increase. Their service has not changed in years. Their products have not changed in years. No real benefits are being given to the consumer. No physical releases for games.
This is just pure greed. Unlike taking a paycut for their incompetence or being complacent with the infinite money they earn and burn they pass the blame and expense to the consumer. Always striving for more. I’ve been with xbox since the begining the series X will be the last console i ever use. Utterly done with this unsustainable business.

  • I love my gamepass your criticisms are lame and if your that butthurt by 10 bucks you couldn’t actually afford it at 20 bucks. All ya keep bringing up the layoffs stfu with that trash all companies do it to keep money flowing that’s how businesses work.

  • I feel their strategy and pricing alienates a part of their market. A large part of their price increase is to bring high value games. As someone that is no longer a teenager and doesn’t enjoy shooters anymore it’s value becomes extremely over priced. I will probably end up selling my Xbox and sticking to Playstation since only having game pass just isn’t worth the price. Not to say Playstation is much better. The subscription models are just becoming yo expense when you see one game every 2 months that you actually want to play it’s more expensive for the subscription then to buy the game. I don’t value games worth more than their lowest sale price. They put a bunch of $10-$20 games and some shooter and that’s the lineup.

  • My household cancelled all 3 of our gamepass ultimate subscriptions today. We didn’t knock down a tier, we aren’t taking a break… no we have cancelled, for good. I told my teenagers if they want it they will have to pay for it themselves and they’ve agreed to cancel and I led the cancellations with my own account first. This is not about affordability. I could afford these each month but to what end? There is only so much time in the day and only so many games you can play. There isn’t any more value they could add to this to even make it this price! We will all move to PC and just the occasional actual game purchases for stuff we play together or that they play with their friends. This was the last straw. I have had game pass since it first came out, xbox has been my favorite console… Sadly I will never buy another and might sell ours… the bright side is that now when we purchase games instead of renting them in a gameplay the developers will get more money.

  • Y’all are crazy! I still think it’s an amazing deal. I get to play 3 awesome games this month for only 30$. I also got my Series X for 300 on Facebook marketplace.

  • Canceled last night, I am not going to play every game on game pass. I would be better buying what I want for as little as I get to play.

  • Cancelled my gamepass today. It’s just not worth it… Absolutely ridiculous that the lowest tier to get online play is over 10$ a month. And they want you to pay 30$ for a few games? I mean just look at the library… They’re all either old games from the 2010’s or new indie junk reheating the same 4 concepts over and over.

  • Nope, I’ve had an Xbox since the first one was released and have had Xbox live, and then what became game pass since it has been around. Unfortunately, there is only one direction on which Microsoft takes Gamepass… that is, the monthly cost will only continue to rise. I’ve defended Microsoft/GPU for the long time, but the, half finished games filled with bugs, micro transactions being shoved down your throat in every game (despite the game only half working), mass layoffs and now this are the last straw. They’ve made it clear where their priorities lie, making money over all else.

The thing that is so frustrating about it? They justify their continued price hikes by offering niche additions to the subscription that only a certain subset of people who subscribe will use. Perfect example? The addition of the fortnight crew/Ubisoft classics as part of GPU. People like myself subscribe to GPU primarily for the day one releases. I couldn’t give two shits about fortnight crew or Ubisoft Classic, yet if I want day one releases, I’m forced into the GPU tier because none of the other Gamepass tiers offer it. Coincidence? Absolutely not. It’s 100% by design and Microsoft adds the other features knowing that they likely won’t be utilized by a significant number of subscribers. Like many, I will NOT be renewing my GPU subscription and may cancel Gamepass all together. $360 per year is ridiculous and the regular price increases is just not sustainable nor is it worth it.

Given the number of people that seemingly plan to cancel GPU, I’m wondering if we will ultimately see Microsoft back track the price hikes, there just appear to be too many people cancelling and unwilling to pay $30 a month…

  • I’m done with this shit, I barely even play games anymore, cuz now all the games are about macro-transactions, n barely games are fun to play anymore or maybe im just growing up, 34yr old, I’d rather go to game stop n get used games there. At least I’d own those.

  • I think we as gamers often feel as if individually we are powerless to fight back against corporate greed, but the thing that I don’t think we realize is that collectively we actually are the ones that hold power over the corporations, however, in order for us to actually “wield the power” we have to be unified. If collectively the vast majority of gamers cancel their Gamepass subscriptions (and I mean cancel, not downgrade), it will force Microsoft’s hand and they will have no choice but to either lower the monthly price, or rethink the structuring of Gamepass.

I think whatever model or method Microsoft used to predict how many subscribers they would likely, and could afford to lose as a result of increasing the GPU price by an absurd 50%, greatly underestimated how many people would be utterly pissed off and would not renew their subscription.

  • November 2002 I joined xbox live. My game pass expires Nov 2025. That’s it. 23 years and I am done. The entire gaming industry has gone in the toilet. Microtransactions, subscriptions, yearly releases of the same game (EA Sports. COD). Toxic communities, unchecked cheating, corporate greed. That’s enough.

  • Doubling the price on something that is not worth it, my point is not all the day one releases are liked by everyone so what Xbox thinks they are given you is value to money to you is not the same for you as you might not like the game, this new addition to Ubisoft and the other thing you added is not for everyone and definitely not for me and should have been an option not pushed on to me and at extra cost. Not for me I will be opting out and will be going to pc gaming so see you Microsoft you gone a blown it once again foolish clowns.

  • Yeah cancelled, what they’re offering isn’t worth it for a 50% price increase, especially when everything else is rising, got plenty in my back collection to play and I’ll be happy I’m saving all that money each year, maybe buy some physical games I can own instead. This was the last straw from a greedy company that was already making good profits

  • I canceled my gamepass. It runs out at the end of the month. I was already thinking about cancelling since I rarely play, but was holding on to it in the hopes I get time to play again. This made it easier.

  • Im gonna stick with it. 10-15 years ago, I used by 2 to 3 games a month sometimes a week if it was good release window, then, rush to trade in those games when I finished them. I dont rave anymore, dont smoke, my only vice is gaming so if I have to pay £30 (UK) a month, thats no problem. It a fraction of the price Id pay for a full prices game by themsleves. I really the value I get out of it. Its still worth the money.

  • There’s just no emd to this disgusting greed. They already make a insnae amount of moneyy, yet it’s never enough.
F.ck them all! Piracy is back to the meny, bwoyz!!!

  • The ability to stream games to my phone so I can play when I’m laying in bed or when my wife wants to watch something on the TV has been clutch. But at this price point I’m going to cancel my sub and just pick up a Steam Deck. Games go on great sales on Steam all the time, and at least I’ll own them.

If they’d hiked the price 10% or hell even 25% I’d probably have stuck around. But 50% in one go is just fucking disrespectful to their customers.

  • Been with Xbox since they launched first Xbox Xbox 360 Xbox s and now series s/x unfortunately the price has made me realize that the big company’s are out to line there pockets and don’t care about who’s paying for there luxuries our luxuries are gaming but with this price increase think I’ll just get a buy a modded controller and USB adapter and go back to playing the old games the way they are supposed to be enjoyed free.
Sorry Xbox would of liked the option to have all the extras good bye and enjoy your fall from grace.

  • I already cancelled mine last month because I’d had enough of it. Poor games that are of no interest at all. There’s no way I’ll be rejoining and certainly not for that price. My son’s also sacking it off with his GP and he plays a lot. He simply said I’m not paying that it’s just greed.
Xbox you have lost another 2 subs and I’ve been with you probably 10 years or so. Looking into buying gaming pc. The price of that Xbox ally is a joke as well…

  • I bought the couple game pass games I really want to keep playing, which were each under $30, and cancelled. I still have plenty on the platform that I had bought because they weren’t on game pass to begin with.

The price bump to $20 earlier in this year was pushing it, $30 isn’t worth it at all.

  • I personally will probably be canceling. I just cant justify spending 30 a month on game pass, especially when I buy the games I play on it. I use Ubisoft+ a lot more than I do game pass anyway. Yeah they are including ubisoft classics, but to be honest I already own the classics anyway. And the games I want to play and do not own are not even available on game pass. The list that has been released of upcoming day one release does not include any games I would want to play. I don’t care for original Xbox games and the ones I do have interest in I already own thanks to a million years ago when microsoft offered registering your owned disks in case of a need to replace. Those somehow ended up in my owned library digitally. (Not complaining) My best course of action would be to cancel game pass, keep Ubisoft+, and the money saved from dropping game pass can instead be saved to buy new games or older games that I know i want to play. To be honest there has only been one newly released game that I ever bought and it still isn’t offered on game pass. (Probably because it hasn’t been out even a year yet)
So I guess this is good bye to game pass and hello to the games I really want to play. I will say though that this is extremely disappointing because I did enjoy being able to collect points to save on games I really wanted to buy through the point system offered with game pass. But with the price increase they have not even offered an increase in points on that end. So you pay 30 and don’t even get the equivalent in points for playing the games on game pass. (Just so everyone knows, if you download Sezzle, they offer games on android that you can make money on and use the money on any store on their site including microsoft. In one week of playing I’ve made 100 dollars that I can use on microsoft or to pay bills)

  • They say they wouldn’t bring you more value.Well guess what? Before the whole care changes and price changes, we actually had a d*** good value. And nothing could have beat it.But now, it’s nothing but trash, you get less games for more money

  • Before this price increase I was thinking of buying the new Asus Xbox Ally X handheld. I was actually hyped up about it, this increase is way too much though, if they included a family plan for this price I would’ve stayed, but for the first time since it started I will be cancelling my Game Pass ultimate subscription. I now have learned my lesson, will only buy games on Steam and Gog from now on. Will probably sell my Xbox now.

  • I cancelled. I’ve got enough games in my library to keep me going for a while. Microsoft can eat a dick.

  • I think everyone is over reacting. Do I like the price increase, no. But I am an older gamer who used to buy game brand new back in the mid 90’s with money I saved cutting grass. These games were often $40,$50, and sometimes $60. Take into account inflation and today I would be paying $80+ per game. I waste more than $30 on stuff I don’t really need and don’t even think about it. I have not bought a game now for probably 4 years, except for the few that leave game pass and get a massive discount. So yes I still find value in game pass and have both a PC and SX to play on. Also the consoles are getting more expensive and I believe Nintendo was the first to increase game prices. So it’s not a shock to me things go up in price. One thing g I do wish Microsoft would do is have a family pass for those with 2 and more kids to have a cheaper option.

  • I will also be cancelling my subscription for a casual gamer who doesn’t play every day it a hike I won’t accept
Back to the Playstation for me now
    Microsoft greed is shocking

  • I have been saving reward points for years, just to be able to buy the 3month gamepass plan for points. Now they straight up deleted all the gamepass plans available for rewardpoints. I feel scammed.

  • Does Xbox believe that everyone plays Fortnite? Because many of us don’t, or at least I don’t. So this “added value” is worthless to me and others like me. They’re asking us to pay for something we will never use.

Additionally so many day one game pass games are horrible, I can think of only a couple that were good to excellent, and none of them made by an Xbox studio. Nearly every good one was from an Indie developer, and they usually price them a lot lower than the AAA slop.

A better idea would have been to roll in options for any of their games that need a subscription or have and allow players to go oh I don’t play Fortnite, but I do like WoW, or want Diablo currency, or I want Ubisoft’s entire service not just classic+. Doing something like that might have saved this mess.

  • I already downgraded to the $16 plan from Ultimate even though I’m paid out until December since last year. This has a lot to do with the failed COD franchise as of late. You can only access COD (which is trash) on the Ultimate plan. I have the Ultimate because I also have a PC and Steam Deck with Windows. But I’m no longer buying another Playstation or Xbox console. I’m going to just stick to PC in the coming future because both consoles release their games on PC now. And we all know that consoles will not compete with PC especially with its upgradable path.

  • I’m gonna keep ultimate, it’s only $10 more a month, I definitely see how it sucks for us as consumers but I already pay for 2 ultimate subscriptions and the extra $20 a month doesn’t really hurt me but now that the lower sku has online multiplayer I can drop the one I have for the kids to whichever still has minecraft 😅. I’m not happy about the price increase but fortunately I can afford my habit comfortably so I’m here to stay.

  • Cancelled my xbox subscription for the first time since signing up 14 years ago. It’s insane and to defend it by saying we plan on having 75 day one games which are including all of the first party games they’ve delayed for years. Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft are only an added value if you actually care or plan on playing them. It’s just extra costs for everyone else. If they actually cared about their subscribers they would just make Ubisoft, Fortnite crew, and some of the other “Added Value” optional add-ons. Locking higher tiers in with some of these are pointless. If I want to subscribe for a better Cloud Gaming experience, I shouldn’t have to pay for the other bloat “value”.

  • Crazy how they justify the price hike with Ubisoft plus and fortnite crew… We don’t want that! You play one Ubisoft game and you play them all. Haven’t played fortnite in several years. These inclusions are worthless just like ultimate game pass if they don’t fix it.

  • Yeah I’m done with gamepass. Gaming is not as fun as it used to be anyways. I stick to only a few titles so why have gamepass. I only play like 5-6 games a year. Campaign play. I don’t need it. Who has time. We are gonna have to work harder To keep up nowadays anyways. All streaming services are going up. All prices across the board. Gaming is no longer a safe haven. Not wages tho.

  • With the massive increase in b rated games that cost about $10 this adds to the list of free games watering down how many actual enjoyable games (AAA) that they add this price hike isn’t worth the money as most of these games can now be bought on PS for the same price also it really doesn’t count that they give you a day one realese as they constantly remove games from game pass effectively contradicting every thing they are trying to defend about the price hike don’t try to cheat your player base they will turn on you so don’t be greedy

  • they say $30 but that doesn’t include tax so it’s even higher. the only way to show companies is by not paying if everyone cancelled for 2 or 3 months they’d have no choice but to lower prices

  • For those that are immediately canceling gamepass look into GameStop and other retailers that still have the $19.99 cards still and stack up to 3 years. Stop complaining and find a work around. With the current tech boom in the US, price hikes are going to happen to offset the backend costs. I personally like the new add ons and new perks and will be keeping Gamepass ultimate, I switched from PlayStation because for $80 a year for essentials its not worth it to be locked to a console, basically paying to play online since the monthly games are trash. At least with gamepass ultimate it fits my needs better since I game on the Xbox X, PC, steam deck(yes you can cloud and remote play Xbox from the steam deck), mobile phone, and tablet. I hope alot of you canceling will come back since Xbox is trying to tie all the gaming ecosystems together and get rid of the proprietary crap that has separated gaming for years.

  • Lolol Using that they release cheap junk that nobody is going to buy on day on is not an excuse for 3 price hikes in less than a year that double the price in a strained economy where literally everything has seen about a 50 percent increase. Giving people the garbage off of another stream site that you can routinely but for 5-10 dollars on sale, is not doing anything for the consumers. If this was so great, then why force it? Why not make it an option and see who actually upgrades to it. Oh, yeah, because nobody would of upgraded for what they stole and gave as an excuse for the last 2 hikes. Sorry, this is about buying up competition, telling the consumer it’s for them, then charging us for what it cost to acquire. Sorry, not interested in renting for hundreds what can be bought with a few bucks and I’m not interested in getting charged more now Everytime a new flop of a COD game comes out. Lolol At this point, it’s officially cheaper to buy the few games I okay a year that aren’t even in gamepads and they can keep the multiplayer microtransaction and garbage for 10 year olds. The laziness of these video game companies now just leads to flops that are marked down between 50-80 percent in a year. Why rent for all that cash and never own, why listen to Microsoft tell you this is going to lead to all this stuff for you, yeah for 100 times more. I do hope this is the straw that finally knocks this monopoly wanna being slimy greedy company down to size, finally. I hope they take at least a 50 % loss to customers, equal the greedy increase and NOT for us, seeing as every increase comes with them taking away far more than they give. They think people are idiots, probably because they ee elected a grifter who is still running a Ponzi scheme out of the oval office and embezzling with the people’s apparent blessing. Corporations don’t respect you and they think you are sheep. Just stop being that. For once, say no and close the wallet and see just how fast they change their attitude, or at least show the other sheep that they will just raise prices even more to steal from them to cover for everyone who finally said no. Stop being a mark for their nonsense

  • On a secondary ale of one to blooming stupid, this is up there with complete lack of common sense

None of this is profitable for anyone but themselves, and the packages they offer are useless and rubbish, get a price hike to play fortnite, which a lot of peeps dont play at all. Way to alienate your player base, you can tell the moron in charge of this decision isn’t a gamer.

  • Im downgrading personally. The game play to expense ratio just doesn’tmakesense. 30$ is just outrageous.

  • I’ve been playing xbox live since being a beta tester for the original live service on the original xbox. Its got to the loint now where the price is no longer value for money for me. I dont want ubisoft+ and fortnight whatever. Microsoft can try and justify their price rise as much as they like. Im done and have cancelled my Gamepass Ultimate entirely. Ive got numerous games still to play which will keep me entertained for a long time. Ill just use the sales now for games I didnt want to get straight away.

  • Can we please get a special tier for old millennials with kids who don’t actually care if there are more day one releases? I never play day one anyways. The reason I like gamepass is because we hardly have time to play anything, but it gives us the flexibility to play games with low commitment, and gives the family Sea of Thieves access on multiple devices. I don’t want to downgrade cloud gaming quality just because I don’t want the huge game library.

I have subscribed since the beginning but this is the end!

  • 20 bucks was too high. 30 prices me out completely. Sure, there are tons of games to play – but I play Maybe five of them. I have no issue sticking to my Nintendo Online subscription for sixty bucks a year or whatever it is instead.

  • Xbox has gone too far, I get that they added value by adding Fortnite and Ubisoft classics, but they didn’t realize that not everyone wants or plays those games. I’ll be cancelling for sure, maybe stick to my pc and never deal with the hassle again

  • Defending add or packing the fluff I and it sounds like others didn’t order either. Wasn’t the EA pass separate? And the monthly Fortnite pass for V Bucks. They are assuming we all want to play those games.

  • We are a family of 5 with 4 Xboxs in the house and 4 gamepass ultimate subscriptions. With the price increase that works out to almost $1440 a year. We made the decision last night to cancel all 4 subscriptions in protest.

  • My question remains why cant i play games on the cloud for longer than 30 min before it crashes? Just says download for better experience! I’d have to delete games just to enjoy smh

  • The fact that they seen the backlash of these price hikes and they still continue to defend them goes to show they dont care about their gaming community ive been playing Xbox since the original and I’m deeply saddened that Microsoft gives no care that most of us can’t pay for a 30$ a month subscription the 20$ sub was enough but to raise it and make it near impossible for ppl to stay subbed to the only sub that mattered is utter bs will be canceling my sub when I can and prolly will ultimately say f*** xbox I’m over the greediness and the umpteenmillion microtransactions in every game that comes out anymore

  • I won’t be renewing Ultimate tier of GamePass. $360 is a bit too steep for me for the year, and the perks aren’t there really (I don’t play Fortnite at all and very few Ubisoft games I play). They should have had another tier between Ultimate and Premier, offering a price without the Ubisoft and Fortnite. Think they will see this was not a good move.

  • The question I have is how many Day One releases actually matter? Even when I was playing games 4 to 10 hours per day, I generally only cared about 2 or 3 full retail games in a given year and some of those carried on to the next year. There would be a few Xbox Arcade/digital only games that would be worthwhile. My subscription ran out a couple months ago. I paid $11 per month through “discount retailers” for those last few months. I know it isn’t the same, but Nintendo is charging $50 for a whole year. One person can only play so many games no matter how many are available.

  • Lmao so many people claiming they’ll go to Steam claiming they’ll own their games. Read the fine print dipshits, Steam isn’t any better.

  • I downgraded to premium tier. I hope it fails miserably. Not because I’m pretty or entitled, but because I feel it’s the wrong move to inflict such a large increase on your best customer group. (Some of y’all are just extra) Considering the so called “added benefits” only benefit a small group of select players, alienating your best customer group on GP was a stupid move.

Vote with your wallet. Change tiers or cancel. They’ll get the message. What they should have done is offer the Crew/Ubi *perks” as a bundled add on that you could add on to any tier. Then you can let users who want it, add it.

  • I canceled mine last night. I am neither willing to play Ubisoft classics nor am I a Fortnite gamer. There is no particular day one exclusive that is forcing me to justify this cost. Hell, I will go cheaper if I actually buy a day one release instead of throwing money on a subscription.

  • Just canceled pc/console ultimate last night. Not doing it, it is ridiculous especially that I don’t play 98% of that game library. I will switch to PC game pass for $16 so I can play black ops 7 or I might just buy the game. Xbox screwed up big time

  • I know that $30 a month might be a stretch for some. But really it’s no surprise. Look at mcdonald’s dollar menu lol it’s doubled in price . You can not raise employees pay without someone to pay the difference. Companies are not going to cut profit margins if there is no competition. Im a low income family of 6. Im the only 1 working. Yes it sucks but it all started with minum wages being doubled. The value of your US dollar market is half of what it was. It sounds terrible but think if you had a million dollars and now it’s worth half of that. Welcome to inflation.

  • Was thinking about upgrading to ultimate game pass from pc game pass. Now I’m thinking about canceling the pc game pass and go back to steam. If XBOX had legendary games like Ghost of Tshushima, Gods of War, Uncharted etc. that may somehow could justify the price.

  • Now imagine other players across the world that their economies dont help with these prices i day they should just leave it how it was and not everyone plays fornitw so the crew addok doesnt make sense for everyone

  • News of price increase caused me to consider whether I was using what it provided, have concluded that even under current pricing I’m not getting the value out of my money , so certainly won’t be paying more. It’s not worth $300 nzd a year for PC game pass. I’ll just buy the games I’m interested after checking out game play.

  • I actually cancelled my game pass 2 days before this news came out. I’d come to the conclusion that I just wasn’t playing enough of the games to justify the price, and the ones I was playing I could have picked up in a steam sale for far less then I was paying in a year for game pass. Adding more games doesn’t tempt me as I just don’t have the time to play even more of them!

  • My household has five Xbox(es) and players. Piggy backing two and two on subscriptions/licenses leaves me paying for 3 ultimate plans (since we can’t have a family game pass like they’ve rolled out in other countries). No way I was going to justify $90 monthly.

I spent just around $250 to buy copies of everything we had been playing that we would lose from game pass. I’d recoup that loss in less than 3 months time from the savings alone…

Dropped to core, set up for three months at a time for the discount and that’s it.

At the end of the day it’s a wide giant variety pit of games that even my kids hardly touch. There are tons of trash and fodder that we have zero interest in. So the “library size” or “75” day ones doesn’t matter.

I’ve been on Xbox long enough to remember when Xbox was all “indie games aren’t important” yet indie titles make up the bulk of the monthly added titles to game pass.

  • It was pushing too expensive at 19.99 a month and the “value added” in the increased price range is subjective at best. I agree the added features should have been a optional additional cost for those player Xbox is saying they they are “LISTENING” too. With the price of everything increasing I can no longer justify the cost. Almost all the games I want to play I already have access to on my PC or are free to play on other no subscription based services. This was a tone deaf move made by ignorant business types insulated from the effects of the current economic climate. Eventually their board will get the spread sheet of cold hard facts but by that point it will probably be too late. For now my 16 years of loyalty only owning 1 companies system and dutifully paying my monthly subscription is now over. With a minimum 3000 dollars spent i own nothing but a box of circuits and transistors. That feels gross.

  • Keeping. Still has great value and the cost isnt bad especially by comparison to other platforms and streaming services. People like to cry when costs go up but barely consider the offset benefits and generally tend to go back or settle for less. Leave, sell, whatever, just do it quietly.

  • Just canceled after almost 20 years. What a bunch of greedy crooks! First they make everyone have to pay for game pass and now they want to keep hiking prices!! Outrageous

  • I’m going to keep it. It was a good deal at $20 plus tax a month. I also am paying $13 a month for Fortnite crew. Going to be about the same price a month for me now (possibly a dollar or two less). Add in Ubisoft+ classic games, EA games, PC gaming and easy on the go mobile gaming and the $30 price tag is still a good deal.

  • Why do a price increase when Sony is now getting some xbox games for the same price as they have been paying? Yes we are getting some new game but jeez. Not worth $10 more each month. Multi million if not billion business doesn’t need to do that. I think with how many people are doing the cancelation you should see it’s not worth it. Just saying

  • I’ve been with Xbox since the beginning and I’m a former long term Studios contractor as well. I cancelled Ultimate last night along with others. I’ll likely end up going with core so I can multiplayer with friends. Sadly, I’ve paid for too much digital content to ditch the platform altogether. I’ve switched platforms in the past and have realized each has their own set of issues and the grass always seems greener in the other side.

  • I might stick with the price a bit just to see if it will be such much better than the previous price. But my main is ps5 an pc. So i have tought that thats all i need. The pc gamepass is welcome. But other than that im going down for the premium plan and buy my games in the future!
Not much can defend that jump in price, considering they try to lurk in ads also and maybe try to meddle to much with a beauty of an artform that is video games.

  • Cancelled already, not even downgrade. At the rate new quality games come out now all they did was give me reason to reevaluate rent vs buy. Even at the old price buy is generally the best option now, we just had been on autopilot. Thanks Microsoft for the wake up call.

  • It was a good deal at $14.99 but at $29.99 I’ll just buy the game. They’ve added nothing of value. Everything was already included with ultimate. They’re not granting access to more day one titles, all day one titles were already included. They just have more titles releasing this next year, so hey, prop up the price increase with a lie!

EA Play is worthless, Fortnite is worthless, they’re not value ads when I don’t play ANY of that. But hey, let’s bundle it all together and lock our day ones behind a 50% price increase… Every major tech company in America has lots its mind with greed, world is falling apart but LET’S MAKE THINGS MORE EXPENSIVE!

I have a PC, Xbox Series X, PS5, and a Switch 2. Most games I play are $30, I’ll just buy the game on PC when it drops and save my money. The money I have at $30 per month will easily pay for the titles in interested in. Bunch of greedy, manipulative, do nothings running Microsoft.

Good luck with stock prices, I’m out.

  • It doesn’t matter how how good the service is if its not affordable

Scaling it up and arguing that it’s worth it doesn’t mean people will pay for it. If you buy cable, look at the channels you can get, wowwwww.

It’s $360/year. Break it into packages, so people only pay for the games they want. Then AAA titles get the support Pete Hines was whining about, and players have a service that feels like its worth the money. I don’t care about CoD, give me Episodic story games like Life is Strange, bethRPGs, and a few rogue likes. I’ll buy that package, no other add-ons.

  • It doesn’t matter how how good the service is if its not affordable

  • Cancelled mine, just bought a PS5 & thats £10.99 a month for playstation+ so im going back to playstation. Screw MS for ripping us off.

  • This is ridiculous,I will also be canceling my subscription. You want to raise the cost of a game pass after Microsoft eliminated purchasing movies and TV shows a few months ago.

  • It’s not affordable anymore. Xbox has done what Playstation couldn’t do all these years, kill itself. I won’t pay it, I’ll downgrade and if it’s not what I need then cancel. The gaming industry fs up, restarts and then want us to bail them out by “hey we’ll do better” it cost you twice as much but we’ll put twice as much effort of messing up again. Done!

  • As a whole family of gamers I can say that this isn’t worth it for anyone of us as nervous even play fortnite. Besides that, why would I want to pay for a cosmetic in-game that I can still grind out in game to earn? If I want to play fortnite and earn cosmetics, I’ll play fortnite and pay for the crew membership in fortnite to get the cosmetics. I don’t want to be forced to pay for something that I don’t even play the day one releases are great. Adding a few more games to my selection really doesn’t entice me to pay $12 more though, especially when everything else like EA games. None of my family plays nor fortnite. Do any of us play and to try to defend your price, hike forcing people to pay for things that they don’t use? You have nothing to defend. You’re trying to make people pay more for stuff they don’t use. Just quit it

  • I stocked up a while back so I don’t pay monthly, but I won’t be adding any more. The truth is while I play a lot, I don’t play a ton of different games at one time. It will be cheaper just to buy the games I want out right. I think this just put the nail in the coffin for a lot of casual gamers that don’t run through a lot of titles.

  • Ive had game pass for years and it was affordable enough to forget about. Meaning I didn’t use the service every month but the price didn’t effect me. But this is more than my Netflix subscription that we use daily….
Also the comment of “we are giving you 50 percent more day one games” is invalid since we only play 10% of them since most are games we have never heard of.
    I straight cancelled.

  • Already cancelled the subscription, I care nothing about Fortnite. The value just isn’t there, I’ll buy games when they go on sale. I’ve had that subscription for years and the price increases aren’t worth it. I can play WoW for the same $15 a month it’s been priced at for nearly 21 years. Just a money grab

  • Not paying more considering I already own all the good games or should I say I paid for them.theres nothing in it for me because everything they have made in the past couple of years suck so I guess it’s time to cut my losses and I paid for 100 games so that’s quite the loss

  • If they would let the existing members keep paying the same price every price hike it would be better but if they going to make us pay $30 for ultimate they need to fix the cloud gaming i have to click quite a few times before cloud gaming to work

  • I only want to play my games online. Don’t need all the extra bells and whistles. Was ok(ish) paying $79 a year for the access but it’s not worth $120 even on the lowest tier. Already cancelled and will probably sell my Xbox for a steamdeck.

  • I mean my wife has ultimate but that bc we wanted to play a game together she can’t on her console without it but I got a normal year pass for 80 & then upgraded it for 20 extra bucks only for them to steal 7 months away from me. But my subscription is the 80 bucks a year core one & I think that’s way more worth it as I buy & own games I like. I’ve bought some flops but at least they weren’t crazy in full price. I love Microsoft & would love the new handheld but idk if that’s even worth it. They should lower that price a few hundred dollars & yeah game pass seems like a scam. IDC if someone is on here saying we’re poor or whatever, have you not seen the state of the world rn. Do you want to be paying an arm & a leg for things or would you rather spend it on things you actually need?

  • I will not be paying the price hike for Ultimate, I might drop a level to keep my subscription at the price I’m paying now and keep that under review. Feeling ripped off. I don’t need or want the extra stuff they’re justifying this 50% increase on.

  • It’s not about 10$ extra. It’s about corporate greed.. I haven’t played my Xbox in so long, but was still paying 19.99 for game pass. When I saw 30 bucks a month, I canceled right away. That’s more than my gym membership.

  • Yep I’m out. I had been debating already due to lack of decent games to play. There is a lot of nonsense beta type games and only ever a few worth trying. At that price I can just buy the real game from the store. That’s still 6 games a year in price comparison. Totally not worth it. I have myself and a 13 year old who both agree its not worth an extra $120 per year

  • I’ll be cancelling. It’s going from $22.95 AUD to $35.95 AUD. Not worth it. Apart from COD I only use it for a couple games a year. 2-3 months is the same cost as COD BO7 ($84 at retailers) and I own most of the other regular titles I like as they weren’t day one releases like Hogwarts and GTA Online. Its no longer worth it. Even $22.95 was very steep. It used to be about $15. Unless you’re playing a new game every single month, there’s no point.

  • Won’t be giving these greedy corp anymore money after my pass runs out, back to the 9 seas of internet maybe, disgusting with the game price raises too, Silksong and expedition 33 should have been a wake up call but nope they got scared and mad about it, waaa big corpo babies

  • Nope ill just start buying games. For the price and per what I play not worth it anymore. 75 day one releases. Should be every game, for that price. Also if the game title is on pc aswell should be released fully on both premium and pc game pass. I should not have to upgrade to premium to stream only a game thats already on pc. Pathetic.
