New EA Owners Hoping AI Will Cut Costs And Boost Profits, It’s Claimed

Electronic Arts’ (EA) new owners are banking big on AI in the future for the company. According to a new report from the Financial Times, the ownership group is betting on AI being able to “significantly cut CEA’s operating costs”.

Per the report (paywalled), the enhanced use of AI will be used as a way to also “boost EA’s profits in the coming years”. This will allow the new owners “to manage a large debt load on a company that historically carried limited net debt.”

On Monday, it was announced that EA would be sold for $55 billion to a group that includes Silver Lake, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and the investment firm Affinity Partners, owned by Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. The deal will see current stockholders paid $210 per share, a 25% premium over EA’s stock price.

The deal, which will see the company taken private, was first reported late last week.

  • Good. Fire all these people shut down BioWare finally. Bring back NBA Street and SSX finally and make a Yeezy fighting game to replace what Def Jam was.

  • Honestly, really dude? You all still pursue this stupid A.I thing? When you can’t even make decent game? What’s the point then? This thing still go shit if you still have CEO that pursue money instead make good game. What a hubris.

  • Anyone mad just don’t play EA. Then again none of you were to begin with so I don’t see why you’re mad just politics as usual if you’re that mad leave the US since most of you are sadly from here. Stop supporting companies like this like Disney, Warner Bros, Skydance Paramount, Fox, Microsoft, Google, Apple, Meta, X, Tesla, Pepsi, Coke, just stop but you won’t and instead keep complaining. This is business you don’t like it then don’t support it. And don’t run to X to tweet delete the account run to Cuba or Venezuela.

  • How did you turn being upset about enshitification of a company into leaving the US and running to Cuba. wtf. is this rage bait or does your mind actually immediately go to that whenever someone doesnt agree with you
