Borderlands 4 Sales Pass 2.5 Million Since Launch

Borderlands 4 has been a success, so far, for Gearbox and Take-Two Interactive. According to the latest data from Alinea Analytics, Borderlands 4 sales have seen over 2.5 million players have explored Kairos since it released on September 12.

In data first provided to GamesIndustry.biz, not only has Borderlands 4 had over 2.5 million players since release, but it’s done remarkably well on Steam. The firm says that on Steam alone, the game has sold over 1.3 million copies, accounting for around $80 million or so in revenue.

The sales on Steam come while players were upset about the game’s performance on PC. It event reached a point where Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford told players to start getting refunds on Steam if they didn’t like it. He even said people should “code [their] own engine” if they didn’t like it.

Since then, however, Gearbox did release a patch to address the game’s stability and performance on PC.

What do you think about the sales performance of Borderlands 4 so far? Does anything surprise you? Let us know down in the comments below.
