The Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 Switch collection is a remastered offering of both Galaxy titles. Its release date is a pivotal moment for long-time fans and those of you who’ve never had the chance to go planet-hopping in space.
As part of Mario’s 40th anniversary, Nintendo shocked everyone by announcing a remastered collection, featuring Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2. It marks the first time Super Mario Galaxy 2 has featured on the Nintendo Switch, whereas the first entry arrived as part of the Super Mario 3D All-Stars Collection.

When is Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Coming Out For The Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo has announced an October 2 release date for Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2.
15 years on from the last Galaxy release, you can enjoy both Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 in their remastered glory from October 2. The collection includes both original games, but features spruced up graphics, a new assist mode to make things easier, new Rosalina picture book content, and the chance to listen to the entire collection’s soundtrack from the mian menu while you chill doing something else!
Nintendo Switch 2 owners get a free update that offers 4K resolution in TV mode or 1080p in Handheld and Tabletop mode.
Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Remaster Switch Start Times
Nintendo hasn’t issued the full launch times, but like many first-party Nintendo titles, we expect Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 to be playable from 9:00 PM Pacific Time 24 hours prior.
The Nintendo Shop is fairly consistent with its release schedules. The Nintendo Support page says: “Digital software that is also sold physically will usually be available at 9:00 p.m. PT the night before the physical game’s release date.
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 is receiving both a digital and physical release. In that case, here are the expected release times in different regions.
