While there are enemy modifiers that provide your enemies a boost, you can counter this with Firmware Sets in Borderlands 4, which provide bonuses depending on the number of pieces you have equipped. The more of the same Firmware you have, the better the boosts you receive.

There are 21 Firmware Sets available in Borderlands 4 at launch, with the amount likely to be increased with future updates.

Firmware is a new feature in Borderlands 4, with set bonuses equipped to a maximum of five pieces of gear. This allows for considerably more flexibility on builds, allowing you to chase the maximum possible bonus from a Firmware set, or opt to have bits of different sets for a variety of boosts.

Bonuses range from increased damage, higher lifesteal, and reduced cooldowns, to entertaining buffs like spawning a missile strike after an enemy is defeated, and the ability to mix and match as you see fit provides significant depth to your builds.
