The Blasted Steps in Hollow Knight: Silksong are the last challenge in the first act of the game, and they are going to test you.
However, before you can reach this region, you need to first defeat Widow in Bellhart and have already taken care of Sister Splinter.
Once both of those bosses are dead, you will have the means to reach this dusty area, but the game doesn’t really point it out to you. Here is how to find Blasted Steps in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Where is Blasted Steps in Hollow Knight: Silksong?
The entrance to the Blasted Steps in Hollow Knight: Silksong is found on the far left side of the Shellwood map.
After beating Widow, you can do some side missions in Bellhart, like the My Missing Courier wish, but otherwise, the game doesn’t tell you where to go next. To move toward the end of the first act, you should make your way to the far left corner of Shellwood. Just outside of the entrance to the rest spot, you will see a cart and some pillars. Jump up them to find a hole in the ceiling to start your ascent.
The next room is a short platforming challenge that will require you to wall jump your way up while avoiding some flying enemies and spikes.
When you jump through the hole at the top, run to the right, and you will find a bell to ring, a rest spot, and bellway station to open up. When done with all of that, run back to the left.
Now you are technically in Blasted Steps, but the game won’t reveal it to you quite yet. Continue running to the left until you get into a cave area. When you find a spot that lets you jump upwards, follow that path. There is nothing down the path to the left besides some falling rocks and the edge of the map, where Hornet will say you can’t leave yet.
Make your way up the tunnel, and you will find another rest spot to open with rosaries. Do that, and walk out left to finally be met with the announcement that you are in the Blasted Steps.
What to Expect in the Blasted Steps in Hollow Knight: Silksong
The Blasted Steps in Hollow Knight: Silksong are a long platform challenge with some annoying enemies along the way. The first thing you should always keep in mind in this area is to never jump into the sand. There are some worm-like creatures here that deal two points of damage to you every time.
There are also some new enemies here, including a knight-like creature that can only be attacked from behind. Sometimes, these are found on pretty small platforms, so we recommend jumping and dashing over them to move on with your journey.
Once you reach a point where you find the rest point and bellway station for this area, we recommend opening them up. Just down the right path of these is the citadel gates. To proceed past them, you will need to have rung five bells through various regions you have visited in the past, so hopefully, you’ve been opening bellways already.
Lucky for you, we already took care of the bell for Shellwood in this guide, so you will have four more at most to find.
