As you travel through the Deep Docks in Hollow Knight: Silksong, you will meet Lace, an arrogant foe.
This girl starts her conversation with Hornet, implying that she would cut down our protagonist easily, and for some players, that may be the case, but you’ve already overcome the Bell Beast! How tough can a little girl be? She is a fast-moving and dangerous foe if you don’t know how to deal with her.
Here are some tips for fighting Lace in Deep Docks in Hollow Knight: Silksong, and attacks that you will want to watch out for from her.
All Lace Attacks in Deep Docks in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Much like you, Lace acts like a swordsman, so this first duel with her will be mainly focused on keeping your distance from her when she attacks and striking when there is an opening. She has a lot of different attacks to watch out for, but for the most part, she telegraphs them pretty well.
Combo Swipe
A pretty basic attack, Lace will swing her sword in front of her a few times.
Lunge
When Lace steps back and holds her sword pointed at you, that means she is about to lunge forward. This attack is pretty easily dodged by jumping over her.
Block and Counter
Now and then, Lace will go into a blocking position. If you strike her from the front, she will unleash a flurry of strikes at you that will knock your health down a couple of notches. You can freely hit her from behind while she is blocking.
Air Strike
This attack is a two-parter. Lace will crouch down and leap into the air with a slash. She follows that up with a quick strike downward. As long as you stay on the ground in the middle of the arena, you should avoid this attack.
Air Assault
After you have done enough damage to her, a big white circle will appear in the air. If you are in this, get out quickly, as Lace is about to swirl around that area before slamming the ground.
Lace in Deep Docks Boss Weaknesses in Hollow Knight: Silksong

The secret to defeating Lace in her first Hollow Knight: Silksong boss fight against her is to time your jumps properly and use your newly unlocked Swift Step ability to dodge and cover ground quickly.
In the beginning portions of this fight, Lace will start with a lot of ground attacks and a couple of air strikes thrown in. As she swings forward, jump and swift step behind her and strike her once. Don’t get greedy, or you’ll leave yourself open to an attack.
After hitting her, get ready to repeat that sequence. Luckily, she leaves herself open enough that you can build up your silk pretty easily. If you need to heal yourself, your best bet is to jump into the air and start healing, especially in the first phase, where she spends most of her time on the ground.
When Lace is blocking, you can jump over her and hit her from behind. If you do end up striking her sword, quickly Swift Step away or jump over her to avoid the incoming flurry attack.
After doing enough damage, Lace will be stunned for a few seconds. When this happens, you have an opening to get up to four strikes on her if you’re fast enough. When she regains composure, back up and continue your dodging.
Lace doesn’t do anything to show she is in her second phase outside of starting her air assault attack. This move is very dangerous if you get caught in it, but luckily, it is very easy to avoid by using a swift step. As soon as that white orb appears, dash out of it and wait for her to strike the ground. When she does that, she is open for a quick hit.

Continue dodging her attacks with Swift Step and striking her when she’s open, and you will eventually send her on her way.
