Skullcandy Method 360 ANC Review: Mobile Gaming Never Sounded Better

It’s not often that I play mobile games, but as it’s the most populated portion of the gaming industry and represents 50% of the market revenue, it’s a great idea to stay at least a little attached from time to time. It also helps that cloud streaming solutions are making it easier to bring your games to mobile devices on the go.

With that being said, I wanted a sleek and capable audio solution I could rely on to support mobile gaming endeavours, as well as provide fantastic performance with music and any video streaming. Enter the Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earbuds, a phenomenal and premium solution that ticks all my boxes.

I’ve been using these earbuds as my daily drivers for a while, and now it’s time to pen and publish my full Method 360 ANC review, courtesy of Skullcandy.

Method 360 ANC Earbuds Are Simply Superior

The tagline of the Method 360 ANC earbuds from Skullcandy is ‘premium sound for the people’, and that’s accurate. From the moment I unboxed my earbuds, I knew I had something special in my hands. I’ve always been a fan of good earbuds and headsets, and even if I don’t class myself an audiophile, I hugely appreciate the different a premium device has on a listening experience.

From the handy charging case with a ring hook for carrying to the strong magnets that ensure your earbuds stay locked in place, and to the instant out-of-the-box fit that comes with these earbuds, I was impressed with every angle of the first blush.

I’d picked up the white Method 360 ANC earbuds, but you can select red, grey, black, or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, leopard print. On the aesthetic front, these earbuds are fantastic. They’re nicely shaped, have subtle branding, and the charging case is slim, pocket-sized, and accessible.

There’s a small LED element on the earbuds, and in the box, you get a range of ear gels and rubber grips to suit your needs.

But what matters most with the Method 360 ANC earbuds is what’s inside:

  • Bose-backed, 12mm drivers
  • Bluetooth v5.3
  • Solo Bud support
  • Multipoint pairing support
  • IPX4 water resistance
  • Up to 40 hours of battery life
  • Clear Voice smart microphone
  • ‘True Wireless’ ANC design
  • Rapid charge (10 min = 2 hours)

All in a pair of buds that wigh just 11g each.

They’re fast at connecting to your devices, have remarkably responsive touch controls that just make sense, app compatibility with Skullcandy’s ‘Skull-iQ’ software, and preset EQ modes that let you boost the bass at the touch of a button.

All this, and you’re only paying $129.99.

Are Method 360 ANC Earbuds Worth It?

As I’ve said, the Method 360 ANC earbuds from Skullcandy have become my daily drivers. They’re brilliant, I rarely need to charge them, and they’re attractive, even if the case can sometimes be reminscient of a vape or something.

For gaming, the Method 360 ANC earbuds are superb, offering fantastic depth of sound, good directional audio, and powerful bass. They’re well ranged for all kinds of games, and from run-of-the-mill sims to shooters and beyond, the Method 360 ANC earbuds supported me no matter what I played.

They’re also great for low-latency input and stay comfortable in your ear for hours. I’ve sometimes had issues with earbuds giving me a headache when used for too long, but that doesn’t happen with the Method 360 ANC earbuds.

For reference, I’ve recently also tried the ROG Cetra True Wireless earbuds, the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds, and the Samsung Galaxy Buds3, and none of them are a patch on the Method 360 ANC earbuds.

I’d say they’re well worth a purchase.
