One of the biggest issues PC players have had with Battlefield games in recent years is using a PS5 controller to play the game. The Battlefield series seems to have been built with Xbox controllers in mind, and using a Dualsense controller has proven difficult, if not impossible, in previous Battlefield games.
With that being said, can you use a PS5 controller to play Battlefield 6 on PC? Let’s find out.
Does Dualsense Work for Battlefield 6 on PC?
The PlayStation 5 controller (Dualsense) will be fully functional for PC players when the game launches on October 10.
I love the Dualsense controller, but have been flummoxed by it not working with Battlefield games by default on PC. For instance, my favourite Battlefield game (right now) is Battlefield 5, but you can’t use a Dualsense controller to play it.
Often, the solution would be to use software like DS4 to ‘trick’ the game into thinking you’re using an Xbox controller, but Battlefield’s anti-cheat engine views that as a malicious application and forces your game to close when you open it.
It’s refreshing to learn that Battlefield 6 will have full support for the PS5 controller.
Can You Play Battlefield 6 Using Controller?
Battlefield 6 is fully functional when it comes to controller support. During the multiplayer reveal event, we saw many controller-first pro players and streamers playing Battlefield 6 and having no issues at all.
I was watching Call of Duty pro players (or former pro players) like Scump, Shotzzy, and Crimsix, and they were getting on great in Battlefield 6 using a range of controllers, including PS5 controllers.
This is incredible news for those players who want to get the most out of their game by playing it on PC but who perhaps aren’t as skilled as they’d like to be with a keyboard and mouse.
