Who is Pax Armata in Battlefield 6?

Ahead of launch, Battlefield Studios revealed key details about the Battlefield 6 campaign, including who Pax Armata is.

After not having a campaign in Battlefield 2042, EA handed the reins over to Motive Studio and Criterion to develop a single-player experience for Battlefield 6. Although both studios boast a wealth of previous experience, concerns remain about how the final product will look.

BF6 will reportedly only have a campaign that takes around six hours to complete, which is relatively short, but actually about average stacked up against other series entries. That’s not all, though, as reports also suggest that the campaign may not be on pace to release on day one in a completed state, and some content may have to be cut as a result. That being said, if it all does come together, here is everything you need to know about Pax Armata.

Battlefield 6 Pax Armata Explained

Pax Armata is the antagonist coalition in the Battlefield 6 campaign, comprising nations that defected from NATO and other recruited soldiers.

For some historical background, NATO stands for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a political and military alliance of 32 countries in North America. The core purpose of the Treaty is to protect members through political and military means.

The Treaty states that an attack against one member is an attack against all, and that’s what the Battlefield 6 campaign is centered around. Pax Armata intends to fight all NATO nations, and the United States is leading an effort to dismantle the opposing coalition, with the help of other allied forces.

In the Battlefield 6 reveal trailer YouTube description section, Battlefield Studios provided a brief description of Pax Armata.

“Witness the vicious path of destruction carved by Pax Armata, the world’s leading private military company. PAX pursues the destruction of NATO and its allies, stopping at nothing to uphold their motto: Our Protection, Your Peace.”

Every Rumored Military Unit in Battlefield 6

Battlefield dataminer temporyal revealed the six military units from the Battlefield Labs playtest. In multiplayer, you are reportedly either on the NATO or Pax Armata; each side has three units.

“Each unit has four named characters with unique voice lines and backstories (leaked gameplay footage also revealed an option to play as a nameless soldier),” temporyal explained.

Here are the six units, along with their descriptions.

NATO

Unit NameDescription
United Albion As part of the UK’s historic Armored Infantry battlegroups, United Albion soldiers are skilled in anti-tank tactics and mechanized combat warfare. They are at the forefront of any operation, ready to meet the enemy head-on and defeat them.

Pax Armata

Unit NameDescription
Espada Equipped as a lethal rapid reaction force. Espada are Pax Armata’s experts in amphibious ops and expeditionary warfare. Despite being formed less than two years ago, they have already seen multiple theaters of action and are now central to ongoing operations in Tajikistan.
Fireteam YagaFireteam Yaga are part of Pax Armata’s foundational battle groups, forming as part of a recruitment drive in the Balkan region that targeted the lack of faith in NATO forces. Operating behind enemy lines, the patrol relies on speed, stealth, and coordination to suppress hostile threats.
Kahina UnitGathered from various Northern African nations. Kahina Unit converged with a formidable force in 2026 at a Pax Armata training camp in Algeria. With its members possessing distinct expertise, the squad brings a myriad of skills to the strategic table.

  • The main problem with a force like Pax Armata is that them existing and operating the way they do is outright impossible in the real world. The idea that quite literally tens of thousands of mercenaries and their equipment can mobilize to invade fucking New York in complete secrecy…. yeah, sure bud.

Would have been better if they had done a simple WW3 game like the original Modern Warfare trilogy for example, but it’s understandable they don’t want to touch that subject of course given modern real life events.

  • It’s not that simple tho. Pax is allied with a coalition of nations that is comprised of ex NATO members and nom European countries. This Coalition gives them everything to fight against collapsing NATO so they are not on their own
