A cozy life in Middle-Earth is right around the corner as the release date of Tales of the Shire is edging ever closer, with players finally set to be rewarded for their patience.
It’s been a turbulent ride for Tales of the Shire, with two delays to the release date, but a solid window is now set in stone for the title.

Tales of the Shire Release Date
Tales of the Shire will be released worldwide on Tuesday, July 29, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Players waiting for the new adventure set within the Lord of the Rings universe have had to be patient, as Tales of the Shire was initially due to release late last year. An initial delay pushed the release date back to early 2025, which was then delayed again. Finally, the game releases on July 29.
The latest delay came with Weta Workshop stating they want the game to “feel like a warm hug from Middle-Earth,” and that “from foot-hair styles to the fluffiest cakes, every detail will be just right.”
No further delays have occurred since then, with Tales of the Shire sticking to its release date, and there’s no early access offering, so players worldwide will be jumping in at the same time.

No exact release time has been announced for Tales of the Shire, though it’s expected to be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S at midnight local time.
Those on PC via Steam might have to wait slightly longer, depending on your region, as releases on the platform are usually global, rather than staggered.
