Fans of the controversial Ready or Not are getting their wish: A console release. Although it has been on PC for several years, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are different beasts. So, we’re here to see if Ready or Not’s console price is different, and if it goes one step further and offers the title for free.
It’s a big moment when a popular PC game gets its console launch. It’s like it’s ‘made it’ in some ways, and Ready or Not is deserving of the jump. It’s coming to PlayStation and Xbox (but not Nintendo Switch, sadly), and Void Interactive’s controversial shooter is aiming to shoot its shot.
If you’re interested in the first-person shooter, let’s take you through how much it costs—if anything.
Is Ready or Not Free to Play on PS5 & Xbox Series X|S?

Void Interactive’s Ready or Not won’t be a free-to-play title on consoles, meaning PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners need to fork over some cash to play it on either platform.
Yes, the developer won’t be held hostage over this as it’s non-negotiable. Ready or Not doesn’t follow the free-to-play trend and requires a fee to play. It’s never been free-to-play on Steam, to be fair, so it makes sense for its console ports to follow suit.
There is a physical and digital edition of the game. If you’re not keen on owning a digital copy and you prefer to own physical media, you’ve got a choice about which way to go.
How Much is Ready or Not Console Release?
You can expect to pay $49.99 or £39.99 for Ready or Not Standard Edition, or a further $69.99 or £57.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition.
These are the standard RRP prices for Ready or Not’s two main editions. There’s no Collector’s Edition or anything like that to factor in. This is either a good or bad thing, depending on how driven you are to fill your home with memorabilia.
Either way, the main thing to take from this guide is that Ready or Not isn’t free to play. It could always come to Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus in the future, so if you’re reluctant to shell out, you might get it cheaper later on.
Are you ready (or not) for the console release? Has it got the steel to compete with the biggest shooters on PS5 and Xbox? Let us know all your thoughts through the Insider Gaming forum. It’s not being touted as a CoD killer, but it could be a killer game for newbies.
