During today’s Bandai Namco Summer Showcase 2025, Tekken 8’s producer has provided players with a complete character overview for their new character, Fahkumram.
Fahkumram, the Undefeated Muay Thai Champion from Thailand
Tekken 8’s producer, Michael Murray, provided players with a breakdown for Fahkumram, the second additional character from season 2. Fahkumram is an undefeated Muay Thai champion from Thailand. The character was first introduced in Tekken 7, and many players may notice his towering physique, standing at 2 metres tall, and the strange markings on his body, which resemble Lichtenberg figures or lightning scars. These scars were etched in the character’s skin when he survived a lightning strike as a child.
Michael Murray then takes us through Fahkumram’s new tattoos in Tekken 8 while riding a tuk-tuk. Murray explains that the tattoo on his back is a Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattoo with spiritual meaning.
Tekken 8 Brought Nadaka Yoshinari to Motion Capture for Fahkumram
Nadaka Yoshinari did the motion capture for Fahkumram in Tekken 8. He is the first Japanese ever to unify both Muay Thai titles, Rajadamnern and Lumpinee. Thanks to the renowned fighter’s movements during the motion capture, the developers were able to incorporate animations that were able to “truly capture the authenticity and impact of Muay Thai”.
Fahkumram’s combat style will focus on controlling the fight with his massive reach and powerful, heavy-hitting Muay Thai techniques. He is not known for being quick, but his brute force is something that everyone should be wary of. Fahkumram is an excellent choice for players who prefer using “devastating single hits” over a “flurry of small attacks”.
Players who own the Season 2 Pass can check out Fahkumram in early access on July 7; the official release for the character is on July 10/11 (depending on your region). More details about the character will be revealed through a special live stream a day before the early access.
In other news, a Tekken 8 player was recently seen throwing toilet paper at esports tournament staff. Also, the game has sold 3 million copies.
