We want to know how much Peak costs at its, well, peak. With many hit indie titles either not costing much or being free altogether, the subject of Peak is next, and we’re addressing key questions such as whether it’s free-to-play or not.
It’s time for Peak to reach the top of the indie mountain. A new breakout hit arrives from time to time that suddenly eats up your free time. 2025 has already seen REPO and Schedule 1 emerge unexpectedly to ensnare hundreds of thousands of players each.
If you’re unsure how much it costs (if anything), or if you need to break the bank to start this adventure, we’ve got everything you need to know.
Is Peak Free to Play?

Peak is not a free-to-play title, and it will set you back some money to play it.
The fact of the matter is that the majority of these indie titles need income to survive and grow. Giant studios like EA and Epic Games can afford to make certain games free as they know they can recoup the money through other means, for example, microtransactions.
But a new game from an unknown studio needs contributions. This is why Peak isn’t free—although it’s not far off, all things considered—but you’ll be pleased to know it won’t take much to support the solo and co-op title.
How Much is Peak on Steam?
Steam is offering Peak for $7.99 and £6.39 for interested consumers.
This is an extremely generous price tag for a game offering a solid amount of content! The price tag has likely been a big factor in how the game achieved 100,000 concurrents in its first week of being on sale. There are no special editions or anything like that right now.
You can only buy the main game, and better yet, there’s constant support for the title with a series of early updates helping to fix problems and make for a smooth experience (see the 1.5.a update).
Are you tempted to take a stab at Peak? Is its relatively low price tag enough to give it a try and support the indie title? Let us know if you’ve had a chance to play it yet. Plus, head to Insider Gaming’s official forum for more Peak conversations.
