EA is looking to continue its good work in EA Sports College Football 26. It carries on the series’ recent revitalization, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers are wondering if they can also get it for free again—more on this later.
It seems the community is happy to buy two football games a year. Madden sells itself, but EA Sports College Football 26 is no longer just a spin-off title; like a good wide receiver, it runs alongside the main franchise, and is looking to overtake it. Fans love the pageantry and passion of EA Sports College Football, and the 2026 edition is full of hopes, dreams, and promises once more.
If you’re hoping to play it for free as part of Xbox Game Pass, we’ll explain everything you need to know.
Can You Play EA Sports College Football 26 on Xbox Game Pass?

For now, EA Sports College Football 26 is not on Xbox Game Pass as either a day-one launch title or a future addition.
If you want to play EA‘s newest College Football release, you need to take a look at your bank account and decide if you want to pay a pretty penny or two. You can check any trailer for the game, its Xbox store page, or other associated media, and you won’t find any mention of EA Sports College Football 26 coming to Xbox Game just yet.
I’m being careful with my phrasing, as history tells us this might not be a permanent arrangement.
Will EA Sports College Football 26 Come to Game Pass?
There’s a strong possibility that EA Sports College Football 26 is coming to Xbox Game Pass, as this is exactly what College Football 25 did.
The 2025 title was available on shelves and digitally for nearly nine months. Eventually, on March 27, 2025, EA Sports College Football 25 was added to Xbox Game Pass. This means it’s very logical to expect the 2026 edition to go the same way and end up on Game Pass later down the line.
This isn’t a guarantee, though, so don’t hold us to this!
Your mileage on this may vary. If you’re desperate to play the new College Football game and can’t wait, you’re going to buy it straightaway anyway. But if you’re happy with College Football 25, or you can wait for its price to come down, it might benefit you to wait until next year, when there’s a huge possibility it becomes free to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
We see no reason why EA Sports College Football 26 won’t follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. What will you do? Are you going to gamble and hope it arrives on Game Pass? Or are you getting yourself in those day-one tryouts? Let us know via the Insider Gaming forum.
