Diablo 4 Season 9 is coming, so here’s everything there is to know about the new season, including what Horadric Spells are and when it’s going live.
With Season 9 of Diablo 4, Belial’s reign of terror is at an end. Now it’s time for the Horadrim to take center stage as a new seasonal gimmick is added to the game. Season 9 will likely retain some of Season 8’s features, especially those introduced by the overhaul of boss encounters. However, the new season will bring its own updates and gameplay features.
Here’s a rundown of everything Blizzard has told us about Season 9 so far, and as we’re in the Season of the Horadrim, in the words of Deckard Cain, “Stay a while and listen.”
Diablo 4 Season 9 Expected Release Date

According to the in-game timers, Diablo 4 Season 9 will go live on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
This is also the date that Season 8 ends. This also tracks with how previous seasons have ended and started, so we’re confident that this will indeed be the date Season 9 begins.
Diablo 4 Season 9 Expected Start Time
Here’s at what time Diablo 4 Season 9 will go live:
| Time Zone | Diablo 4 Season 9 Release Times |
|---|---|
| Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) | 10:00 PM—July 1 |
| Central Daylight Time (CDT) | 7:00 PM—July 1 |
| Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) | 1:00 PM—July 1 |
| British Summer Time (BST) | 6:00 PM—July 1 |
| Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) | 3:00 AM—July 2 |

Everything Revealed so Far For Diablo 4 Season 9
Now that the Season 9 PTR is over, here’s everything that’s been revealed so far:
Horadric Powers
Horadric Powers will be replacing Boss Powers as the theme of the Season. Like Boss Powers, these will be special abilities that players can stack to create a range of new builds or to enhance existing builds.
This will likely shake up the meta significantly as the builds that were enhanced by Boss Powers lose some of what made them effective. Although others will likely stay where they are and have their Boss Power replaced with a Horadric one.
The new theme will likely come with a new story, the title “Sins of the Horadrim” suggesting some dark secrets may be uncovered, leading to a new threat for the Wanderer to face. After all, the group has a very shady history.
In the game’s lore, the Horadrim was an ancient organization dedicated to combating Diablo and his brothers. Cain was the last member of the order before his death in Diablo 3, however, characters like Lorath have been trying to rebuild the Horadrim in Diablo 4.

New Endgame Content
Diablo 4 Season 9 will also add some new endgame modes, such as Horadric Strongrooms. These are mini dungeons that can be found inside Nightmare Dungeons, where players can collect something called Horadric Attunement, which will allow them to boost the rewards they receive at the end of the dungeon.
Speaking of Nightmare Dungeons, they will be tweaked, adding the Escalating Nightmare feature that steadily ramps up the difficulty as players get further and further. Naturally, if the player survives, the rewards will be worth it.
As expected, the new season will also add new Dungeon Affixes to items as well as a new unique item for each class.

I loved season 7 but hated season 8. I hope the season 9 events are like the headhunt zones in season 7 and nothing like the boring Apparition Incursions in season 8.
