Despite the cancellation of the Black Panther game and the shutdown of Cliffhanger Studios, it has been confirmed that at least three Marvel Games are still coming from EA, with Iron Man leading the pack.
3 Marvel Games to Come from EA
As reported by IGN, EA Entertainment president Laura Miele has confirmed that the company’s partnership with Marvel “remains strong” and that their “multi-title, long-term collaboration continues.”
A Marvel spokesperson also stated that the relationship between Marvel Games and EA is a “long-term creative collaboration” that focuses on the “original storytelling” of beloved Marvel characters. The first title out of this partnership would be the Iron Man game from Motive Studios. They also confirmed to IGN that at least three games are in development.
Back in 2022, EA and Marvel Entertainment announced a “multi-title” collaboration to develop action-adventure games. The deal stated that at least three new action-adventure games would be developed for console and PC. However, with the cancellation of Black Panther, many wondered if the number had been cut down, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
About Iron Man
For those wondering, the Iron Man game feature an “original narrative that taps into the rich history of the character, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark”, their goal is to make players feel they are truly playing as Iron Man. The development team is led by Olivier Proulx, who has previously worked on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Industry veterans like Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier will support Proulx.
