How to Open Crates in Grow a Garden and Claim Cosmetics

Grow a Garden is an electric Roblox title that’s taking the gaming world by storm. It’s a simple premise that yields hours of entertainment, allowing players to build, customise, and cultivate a sizeable garden with a range of plants. It’s a massively popular title, and in this guide, I’m going to teach you how to open crates in Grow a Garden to get the most out of the game.

In a recent update, the Grow a Garden team introduced a series of cosmetics-based crates that players can purchase from a new vendor. That’s all well and good, but once you’ve purchased them, how do you open crates in Grow a Garden?

Let’s find out.

Everything You Need to Know About Crates in Grow a Garden

Let’s dive into everything you need to know to get the most out of cosmetic crates in Grow a Garden in Roblox.

Where to Buy Crates in Grow a Garden

The latest Grow a Garden update introduced a new trader named Sam, who can be found between the Gear and Pet Eggs stores. It’s from Sam that you’ll purchase the new cosmetic crates and unlock items to customise signposts, gnomes, and more.

Are Crates Free in Grow a Garden?

Crates aren’t free, and you’ll need to pay for the lower-tier crates with Sheckles, the in-game currency. The more exotic and rarer cosmetics crates can only be purchased with Robux, which means they cost real-world money.

The most expensive crates will set you back a pretty penny, too. It looks like the best crates in Grow a Garden can cost millions of Sheckles. It’s also worth stressing that crates have a 10-hour cooldown in Sam’s store.

How to Open Crates in Grow a Garden

Once you’ve acquired some cosmetic crates in Grow a Garden, you’ll want to know how to open them. It’s only natural that you want to reap the benefits of what you’ve just purchased.

To open crates in Grow a Garden, simply follow these steps:

  • Access your garden and find an empty spot
  • Open your inventory by pressing the Backpack icon
  • Search for the particular crate you want to open (there are plenty to choose from)
  • Click on the crate and then on an empty spot in your garden to place the crate
  • Wait for the crate to open and claim what’s inside

It’ll take you 45 seconds to open crates in Grow a Garden, and the rewards won’t always be worth the wait. That’s just something you have to come to terms with.

All Crate Types in Grow a Garden

The latest Grow a Garden update has introduced seven different cosmetic crate types:

  • Classic Gnome
  • Farmer Gnome
  • Common Gnome
  • Fun
  • Signpost
  • Statue
  • Exotic

How to Use Cosmetics in Grow a Garden

Now that you’ve unlocked a few crates and secured some key cosmetics, you’ll want to know how to use them in your garden. It couldn’t be easier, just follow these steps:

  • Open the new Tools menu (top left)
  • Open your Cosmetic Items Backpack
  • Click on the items you want to claim and put in your garden
  • Done!

It’s that simple, which means there’s very little preventing you from throwing cosmetic items all over your lovely garden.

Can You Buy Cosmetics in Grow a Garden?

You can buy cosmetics directly from the shop in Grow a Garden, but they boast some staggering price tags. Players have been finding a rotation of items that can break the bank, such as an exclusive ‘Blue Well’ worth 60,000,000 Sheckles. It’s unlikely the average player will have that much cash to spare, making it a very legendary item indeed.

How to Open Mysterious Crate in Grow a Garden

If you were lucky enough to purchase a Mysterious Crate during the Blood Moon event, you can now open it and claim the cosmetic that sits inside. Just open it the same way as any other crate to find what’s inside it.
