Uzi Is The Second Inductee to the League of Legends Hall of Fame

Riot Games has just revealed that Jian ‘Uzi’ Zihao will be the second player ever inducted into the League of Legends esports hall of fame. He’ll join Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, arguably the most recognisable esports superstar in the world. This marks a milestone moment, with Uzi becoming the first LPL player to enter the hall of fame.

An induction ceremony is scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, on June 6.

‘Beyond His Titles’

Speaking on the news, Riot Games’ Global Head of LoL Esports, Chris Greeley, said:

Uzi’s legacy goes beyond his titles and achievements; he changed the way we view the bot lane role and left a permanent mark on League of Legends Esports. His passion and determination have inspired millions, and once we saw the voting breakdown from the global votes, it was clear that Uzi had left his mark on LoL Esports.

We are honoured to induct him in the Hall of Legends.

Alongside his induction into the Hall of Legends, Uzi will be decorated in a special event pass that features items and rewards centred around the legendary competitor. The champions that Uzi used to find victory in many tournaments will return in Signature and Immortalised variants.

Not only that, but Uzi will be the subject of an explorative documentary detailing his rise to fame. He also gets an exclusive art piece that perfectly encapsulates his career, and a custom Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

This is a bar of stardom that is rarely seen in the esports world.

In a news post, the League of Legends esports team wrote:

Widely hailed as one of the greatest bot laners in League of Legends history, Uzi electrified fans with his mechanical precision and fearless play. Rising through the LPL with Royal Club and later dominating with Royal Never Give Up (RNG), he helped redefine the pro scene’s limits.

Uzi’s fierce competitiveness and deep connection with fans were pivotal in bringing esports into the mainstream in China. His standout performances at the 2013 and 2014 World Championship Finals — and his crowning achievements in 2018 — cemented his legacy as a global icon.

Who do you think should be the next inductee to the Hall of Legends? Let me know on the Insider Gaming forum.
