teamLFG is Now a Part of PlayStation Studios

Sony has just announced that teamLFG, which originated at Bungie, has joined the PlayStation Studios family. Their first project will be a team-based action game.

A new blog post announces that teamLFG is joining PlayStation Studios. Based in Bellevue, Washington, the team operates on-site and remotely across the United States and Canada. It consists of newcomers and industry veterans who have worked on well-known games such as Destiny, Halo, League of Legends, Fortnite, Roblox, and Rec Room.

PlayStation Studios and teamLFG are collaborating to develop a team-based action game. This game will draw inspiration from various genres, including fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life simulators, and frog-themed games. Players will get to experience a “lighthearted, comedic world set in brand-new, mythic, science-fantasy universe”. More details about the game will be revealed at a later date.

teamLFG has expressed its desire to create immersive multiplayer worlds centred around action games. The abbreviation “LFG” stands for “Looking for Group.” Their goal is to develop games that foster friendship, community, and a sense of belonging among players. The studio intends to involve the community throughout the entire development process, allowing players to participate from early access through to the full launch of the games.
