An update from the Battlefield Communications page has given us a glimpse into the game’s future. Rigorous worldwide testing has let players experience the new era of Battlefield, and it looks to only be the beginning.
Battlefield Labs serves as the precursor to the next full-scale Battlefield game. Extensive alpha and beta testing aims to make this the most player-friendly Battlefield game in years. All elements of the gameplay are being targeted, with particular attention paid to everyone’s favorite destruction.
But if you’ve not been able to play Battlefield Labs until now, this could change.
Battlefield Labs Testing to Continue Throughout May

The Battlefield Comms X page addressed the state of Battlefield Labs and where EA and DICE want to take the test phase as we move ahead.
In a May 2025 Development Update, we were all told the teams are: “Exploring new ideas for the future and receiving direct player feedback continues to be a crucial aspect of the Battlefield Labs process. Even if some ideas never reach release, it helps us understand and refine elements that resonate most with players as we continue to build Battlefield together. It’s been a valuable and exciting experience for our team and community so far, and we’re looking forward to continuing that collaboration alongside you!”
With the game’s infrastructure seeming stable and server stability proving to be sufficient, it was also explained: “Throughout May, we’ll be inviting more players across Europe and North America, and will start to include select areas of Asia.“
More Battlefield Labs sign-ups are in the pipeline.
