Developer Lenzee has announced the release date for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, with the game set to launch on PC and current-gen consoles on July 24. 505 Games will serve as the game’s publisher, and it’s worth noting that Wuchang will be available on Day One via Xbox Game Pass.
The release date reveal was accompanied by a four-minute trailer titled “Bride,” alongside the opening of pre-orders. The video showcases a woman with a tentacle-like appendage extending from her back, evoking the image of a serpent. This grotesque figure is revealed to be Perfect Bride – Fang Ling. And yes, in true soulslike fashion, she’s a boss fight.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers looks absolutely stunning, with fluid, visceral combat animations. As seen in the new trailer, Wuchang can chain together multiple strikes, seamlessly alternating between the weapons she wields.
Following classic soulslike structure, the Fang Ling boss fight features two distinct phases — the Perfect Bride form, where she retains much of her humanity, and a brutal second phase where she mutates into a monstrous chimera.
The official synopsis reads as follows:
You assume the role of Wuchang, a pirate warrior afflicted by a mysterious malady known as the Feathering. Explore forgotten temples, unravel ancient secrets, and absorb the powers of vanquished bosses to ascend into legend, forged in shadow and flame.
