Clair Obscur is turning heads worldwide thanks to stellar reviews and top marks from some tough critics. This all-new RPG comes from Sandfall Interactive, and it’s the studio’s first title. It’s a stunning debut, as the game features the talents of Charlie Cox, Andy Serkis, and Ben Starr, among others.
One question that’s on the minds of prospective fans concerns the operating model of this dark fantasy title. Is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 open world, or is it a linear game that keeps things relatively contained?

This means that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 doesn’t have an expansive map to explore, but there is plenty of meat on the bones regardless.
Per the previews and reviews for Clair Obscur, the game has a world map that you can rely on to get from zone to zone, and the game’s explorable areas are quite diverse. It was referred to in the Washington Post as being ‘deceptively large’.
But Does It Spoil the Story?
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 doesn’t need a massive open-world map to have a solid narrative. That much has been confirmed by the game’s reviews, which have portrayed glowing things about the story that drives Clair Obscur.
This somewhat bizarre game has come out of nowhere and has an all-star cast, which has many people wondering what it’s even about. This isn’t a place for spoilers, as by all accounts, Clair Obscur must be experienced to be fully appreciated.
