Three months of 2025 are in the books and video games sales figures in the United States (US) are starting to shape up. And according to the latest data from Circana, Monster Hunter Wilds remains the best-selling game of 2025 so far.
Per the data, the latest in the long-running series from Capcom comes in just ahead of another new release from a long-running franchise, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Despite it coming in 2nd, however, Assassin’s Creed Shadows—which released on March 20—finished 1st in full game dollar sales on Xbox Series and 2nd on PlayStation and Steam. Based on that information, it could be easy to assume it’s only a matter of time before it takes over the top spot from Monster Hunter Wilds.

Moving on to other games in the top 10, MLB The Show 25 (4th), WWE 2K5 (6th), and Split Fiction (10th) are all other new March releases that found their way into the list. Regarding MLB The Show 25, specifically, it’s dollar sales numbers for its launch month are up 23% compared to 2024.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is still in the top 5 for the year as well as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
