NAKWON: Last Paradise is a post-apocalyptic extraction title that recently enjoyed a popular playtest. During a Steam demo, more than 37,000 concurrent players logged in to enjoy everything this intense, PvPvE game has to offer. Many of them came away wondering when NAKWON: Last Paradise would be released.
In a recent capital markets briefing published by Nexon, the developer and publisher behind NAKWON, the release window was revealed. Until now, all documentation has stated ‘coming soon’, with no firmer period in place.
When is NAKWON: Last Paradise Coming Out?
In the recent briefing document, Nexon confirmed that NAKWON: Last Paradise will be dropping in 2027, pushing it beyond the expected 2026 window. The recent Steam playtest unveiled a fairly polished title that could easily find a spot in the market today, but now we know it won’t launch for at least another 10 months.
Nexon’s slate also includes three Dungeon & Fighter games, Vindictus: Defying Fate, and Project Overkill.
Eager to create the best game possible, the NAKWON team has reportedly been meeting with Embark Studios, the developer behind ARC Raiders, a monumentally successful extraction adventure title released in 2025. NAKWON is an extraction game with a very different operating model and theme, but if there’s one team that can guide it, it’s Embark.
The NAKWON team in Korea has been meeting with colleagues in Embark – an exciting collaboration that can help attract a global audience when the game releases in 2027.
In NAKWON, players explore post-apocalyptic South Korea, fighting scores of the undead and other players as they loot a wasteland and attempt to return to their safezone with the bounty of their hunt. It’s a brutal, desperate game with some decent depth and great potential.
And now we know it’s not coming out until at least 2027.
