After months of rumor, speculation, and—recently—leaks galore, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has officially been announced and released by Microsoft and Bethesda. In an announcement via Bethesda, it was revealed that the game is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
“The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered modernizes the 2006 Game of the Year with all new stunning visuals and refined gameplay,” the game’s description reads. “Explore the vast landscape of Cyrodiil like never before and stop the forces of Oblivion from overtaking the land in one of the greatest RPGs ever from the award-winning Bethesda Game Studios.”
Retailing for $49.99, the game has been completely rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. In addition to the base game, it also includes the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions..

As mentioned earlier, rumors of the game’s existence have circulated for months. It wasn’t until recently, however, that things really picked up steam with image leaks, file sizes, and more. Oblivion’s remaster was first claimed to be set for an early April release. However, when that didn’t happen other reports surfaced to suggest a release on, or around, April 21. It turns out that those claims were accurate as the remaster of the game first released in 2006 is finally here.
Now fans can say they got The Elder Scrolls IV, V, and IV again before VI was launched.
