9-Year-Old Accused of Brutally Slaying Father; Police Blames Call of Duty

News has recently surfaced regarding a brutal murder that took place in Utah. At the centre of the situation sits a nine-year-old who has been accused of murdering his father with a hatchet and a handgun, a vicious slaying that has been blamed on Call of Duty: Warzone. Reportedly, prosecutors have been working to establish a link between the alleged murder and Call of Duty: Warzone, given that the child ‘had an affinity for particularly violent games’.

The Blame Game

In an article published by Yahoo News, it was explained that the Utah PD arrived at the home in Tooele to find a man bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head and lacerations that were deemed defensive wounds. It was further reported that the nine-year-old – who hasn’t been named – had ’emerged from the room and said that his dad was bleeding from the head and was dead.’

Per sources that obtained copies of the arrest warrants, it was claimed that the boy was addicted to ‘consuming content, watching videos, and playing video games’, many of which were ‘deemed not age-appropriate’. It has been claimed that prosecutors have zeroed in on Call of Duty: Warzone as a contributing factor to this alleged murder because it has ‘the same weapons in gameplay that were found and used in the assault.’

It has been suggested that the boy struggled with behavioural issues that could have contributed to the alleged murder.

  • It’s probably not COD it’s these influencers they don’t care what they push on kids. Twitch, Kick, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, all of it needs to go. Sorry for this horrible situation.

  • Warzone is an 18+ game, a 9 year old should have never been given access to this type of content. Can’t blame the game on this one it should’ve been up to the parents to moderate what content their child is consuming.
