5. Middle-earth: Shadow of War
Lord of the Rings was first the greatest fantasy series, but after Monolith Productions picked it up for a video game adaptation, the franchise has been killing it in the software industry too.
The Middle-earth series had some of the best hack-and-slash and beat ’em up inspired combat in the first game, Morder, and in the second, Shadow of War, Monolith perfected that. 4. inFamous Second Son
The biggest aspect in common between inFamous Second Son and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the traversal. In inFamous, Delsin has multiple powers and he uses many different means of moving about Washington: gliding, running like The Flash, or dashing. It’s eerily familiar to Spider-Man 2.
Then come the boss fights and narrative that seems plucked right out of a comic book. Both games complement each other well and playing either of them will make you think about the other.
3. Sunset Overdrive
Sunset Overdrive is one of the best games like Spider-Man 2, and totally not because Insomniac made it.
It’s 2027, mutants have overrun Sunset City, and as the hero of the game, it’s your job to get the situation under control. The game is really funky. When you fight enemies, it’s colorful mayhem, and for travel, you use parkour and literal zip lines that span the city.
Sunset Overdrive takes the best out of Borderlands, inFamous, and Jet Set Radio, but because it’s made by Insomniac, you’ll find a little bit of Peter Parker in there too.

2. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
This one was an obvious choice. The Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man are two of Marvel’s most iconic names, and both of them have superhero games.
While Guardians of the Galaxy isn’t open-world or has any amazing movement mechanics, its star-studded cast of Marvel characters and rich story easily get you hooked after you finish playing Spider-Man 2.
