Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom To Feature Gameplay That Transforms The World, Says Producer

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may feature gameplay that could change the game world, according to a tweet from Japanese Twitter user Genki_JPN. During the Famitsu Game Awards, the game’s producer, Eiji Aonuma, accepted the award for Most Anticipated Game for Tears of the Kingdom and hinted at the gameplay’s ability to alter the game world.

The now-deleted tweet quotes Aonuma as saying, “In the sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, furthermore, the player’s free imagination will be filled with new gameplay that will bring about changes to the game world.”

Aonuma also reportedly said he hoped players would be “pleasantly surprised” by the changes and enjoy exploring Hyrule in an “unknown” state.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Will Cost You

The game is scheduled to be released on May 12th and will cost $69.99, marking the first time Nintendo has charged more than $59.99 for a standard edition of a digital Switch title.

Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser has stated that the price tag is justified by the game’s immersive experience. Bowser explained, “We look at what the game has to offer. I think fans will find this is an incredibly full, deeply immersive experience. The price point reflects the type of experience that fans can expect when it comes to playing this particular game.”

He also clarified that not all first-party Switch games going forward would be priced at $70, saying, “This isn’t a price point that we’ll necessarily have on all our titles. It’s actually a fairly common pricing model either here or in Europe or other parts of the world, where the pricing may vary depending on the game itself.”

With the release of Tears of the Kingdom just around the corner, fans are clearly eager to see how the gameplay will impact the game world and what new surprises the game has in store.

What do you think of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay changing the world?
