Insider Gaming has learned that XDefiant is gearing up for its Server Test Session to take place on April 19.
Following Insider Gaming’s report on the toxic work culture behind XDefiant, the team soon released a new update on its social media channels, which confirmed our previous reporting that the game was delayed and that another test session would be coming soon to test the game’s issues.
If the current internal testing goes well, this test is set to take place on Friday, April 19. Despite the original announcement stating that it would be a 12-hour session, Insider Gaming understands that if things go well and the team doesn’t face unprecedented issues, the test is scheduled to run the entire weekend and end on Sunday. Sources have said that this is “almost a guarantee,” and an official announcement should be made in the next day or two.
Following the test, it’s been officially confirmed that the team “expects to be able to lock a launch date,” which is understood to be tentatively targeting a summer release date.
As officially confirmed, the Play Test Session will only be for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. As previously reported, the past-generation versions of the game have been canceled and we hope that this information will officially be conveyed soon.
I don’t usually say this on reports, but given XDefiant’s turbulent development, take this information with a pinch of salt. Anything can change, especially when XDefiant is concerned.
