It’s been over six months since our last Xbox and Bethesda showcase, with fans hoping that an update on the platform’s 2023 releases will be made soon. Well, it sounds like we might not have to wait much longer, as according to the hosts of the Xbox2 podcast, an Xbox showcase could be planned for early 2023.
Xbox2 hosts Rand Al Thor and Jez Corden have claimed that they’ve heard from “multiple sources” that an Xbox showcase is in the works for early 2023.
The news comes a week after Aaron Greenberg, Xbox Games Marketing Vice President, tweeted that people “will not have to wait too long for what’s next from us.”
Logically speaking, with Redfall, Starfield, Forza Motorsport being planned for the first half of 2023, an early 2023 Xbox Showcase makes a lot of sense. Fans need a more in-depth preview of these games and accurate release dates, with pre-orders being made available, too.
In addition, with Xbox also having games like Ark 2, Stalker 2, Minecraft Legends, and more all being given vague 2023 dates so far, a showcase of such announcements is likely.
Personally, from a pure speculation point of view, I’d say it’s almost a guarantee that an early 2023 Xbox showcase is going to happen with the games lined up for 2023. To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if it follows the last showcase of announcing games, dates, and more information on games that release in the next 12 months.
As for beyond 2023, I’d expect updates around E3 / Summer Games Fest time in June, with a fully-fledged showcase, which could reveal gameplay of the likes of Avowed and State of Decay 3. Heck, even give us an update of the next Fable game and another teaser for The Elder Scrolls VI for good measure.
Do you think we’ll be getting an Xbox showcase in early 2023?
