In a new blog post today, Amazon announced a new collaboration that will bring Xbox gaming to select Fire TV sticks.
The blog explains that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will get to “play hundreds of cloud-enabled games directly through the Xbox app on select Fire TV devices.”
This will only require “a compatible Fire TV stick and Bluetooth-enabled controller,” and not an Xbox console. Players just need to subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate and sign into the Xbox app to access the library.
An Xbox blog released today elaborates on other key details. The blog confirms that the collaboration will allow “members in over 25 countries” to use the service.
It also mentions that two of the Xbox service’s compatible devices will include the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Stick 4K released in 2023.
The blog adds that fans should “stay tuned for additional details.” This could hint at announcements for future compatible devices, deals, and more.
Amazon continues to invest further into gaming, with Amazon Games recently announcing its first studio in Europe. For Prime Day, Amazon also announced plans to give away 15 free games.
Today’s blogs about the Xbox collaboration also greatly emphasized Fallout as a selling point. Fallout received critical acclaim from critics and fans, and it got a season 2 renewal last April.
