Windows 11 Adds Xbox Full Screen Capability to PCs

Full screen capabilities for playing Xbox on PC has been added to Windows 11. Furthermore, it’s available to all Windows Insiders with the latest preview.

These days, like the marketing says, everything is an Xbox. Many of the exclusives Microsoft has racked up, like Halo, Gears of War, and Forza make their way to PCs in many forms. Plus, with Game Pass Ultimate having PC Game Pass, you can easily play any game with a simple tap. However, even with playing on PC, it never felt like a replacement for the seamless console experience. Well, that’s about to change with the latest update for Windows 11.

Full Screen for Xbox on PC Available to Windows Insiders Now via New Update

In a blog from Windows, the team reveals that, along with Preview Build 26220.7271, Windows 11 is getting Full Screen support for Xbox. Now, you can easily switch between desktop and Xbox’s Full Screen Experience via the task bar or Win + Tab. When in full screen, your desktop will switch to the Xbox page and you can play any game without distractions. You can also have multiple open games at once and switch between them with your controller.

No date was given as to when everyone will get Full Screen for Xbox on Windows 11. Still, it is a pretty neat concept and one many people on the go will enjoy. If you don’t own Windows 11, there is the new ROG Xbox Ally, which brings your Xbox to a portable device. Now, with other games like Halo: Campaign Evolved going to PS5, you can pretty much play Xbox wherever and however you want.

What do you think of Full Screen for Xbox on Windows 11? Are you happy to see it added? Will you be using it? Let us know in the comments and on the official Insider Gaming Discord!
