If you’re playing Escape from Tarkov these days, you might have noticed that there’s a new battle pass mechanic that was introduced with the 1.1.0.0 update. It was added alongside Kord Breach, the game’s first official season, and as a free battle pass, it’s open to all players with no barriers.
However, to ascend through the ranks of this battle pass, you’ll need to find TerraGroup Documents all over Escape from Tarkov. These serve as a kind of digital currency that you can use to unlock all the battle pass rewards, which are permanent beyond each season.
But where do you find TerraGroup Documents in Escape from Tarkov? Let’s find out.
TerraGroup Document Types, Explained
In Escape from Tarkov’s new battle pass ecosystem, there are several types of documents you’ll need to find to complete tasks and to unlock new reward tiers. Here’s the split:
- Medical Documents
- Financial Documents
- Blueprints
- User Documentation
- Test Documentation
- Project Documents
- Technical Documentation
Each document type serves a unique purpose, as one tier might ask for one type and forsake all the others. That said, you’ll ideally need to pull as many as possible from a raid to ensure you’ve got the best chance of ascending the ranks quickly.
How to Find More Battle Pass Documents in Escape from Tarkov
Fortunately, digging up TerraGroup Documents for your battle pass in Escape from Tarkov is super simple. They can be found on every map, and the nature of their existence means they’re unique to you in the loot pool. That means you can’t be ‘beaten to them’ by other players at the start of a raid.
It also means you can go through the entire raid before you start picking them up right at the very end as you head to your extraction point.
You’ll get more TerraGroup Documents by completing the Kord Breach task line and eliminating Black Division operatives across Escape from Tarkov’s map, but many of your documents will come from the loot pool in raids.
However, there’s a huge catch. The number of TerraGroup Documents you can find each day is extremely limited, which means you can’t really farm them.
But where do you find more? Well, thanks to Escape from Tarkov’s RNG model, you can find them in dozens of places across each map, and no place is more guaranteed to spawn them than the other. You’ll need to hunt around to dig them up,
For example, people running around Customs have found TerraGroup Documents in:
- The library of ‘Crackhouse’
- The office on Big Red (locked behind a key door)
- In Old Gas
- In both two-storey and three-storey Dorms, in various rooms
- In the offices of the new warehouse buildings
- In the resting area of Stronghold
Meanwhile, those playing on Ground Zero have found TerraGroup Documents in:
- The coffee hut next to the car extract
- In and around Tarbank
- In the offices around the TerraGroup building
- Around the Emercom extract tent
But, to put it simply, you can find them all over the place.

On Labs, basically anywhere, in the residential unit, behind almost every keycard-locked door, or in the important offices. If you head to Interchange, you can find them in almost any superstore office or in the new ‘expansion’ area outside the main mall. If you head to Streets of Tarkov, you’ll find them in Cardinal, Concordia, LexOs, around Klimov, and in quite literally any major building on the entire map.
Factory? The office and laboratory area, around the pumping area, in the med tent, and in Tagilla’s little office space.
Woods? Check out the houses around the village areas and in the Old Sawmill. You can also head to the Scav Bunker.
Shoreline, potentially any part of the Resort, down on the Pier, in the Smuggler’s Base, up in the Weather Station, in the Power Station, and so on.
Lighthouse? I’ll give you three guesses! In the Water Treatment Plant (all buildings), up in the chalets, down in the Lighthouse area itself, and sporadically in the buildings near the river village.
These documents are everywhere, and it would be very surprising if you had many issues tracking them down at any point.
But if all else fails… You can just use money to get through the battle pass. If you head to the Expansion Hub, you can buy Tarcoins to get Classified Documents, which allow you to override any document type. If you feel so inclined, you can spend around $80 to complete the entire battle pass in one hit.
