The Adoring Fan is one of the most iconic characters from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. He’s such a legendary character that he found his way into 2023’s Starfield in the form of a futuristic replication. In this guide, I’ll give you the fastest route possible to tracking down the Adoring Fan, so you too can have one of the best (most irritating*) companions in Elder Scrolls history.
How to Find the Adoring Fan in Oblivion Remastered
To find the Adoring Fan in Oblivion Remastered, you’ll need to head to the Arena in the Imperial City and fight up the ranks to achieve the title of Grand Champion. Once you’ve done that, the Adoring Fan will present himself with the familiar cry of ‘By Azura!’
From there, you’re bound to the Adoring Fan – if you choose to be.
He doesn’t have many uses, unfortunately. As you explore the open world of Cyrodiil, you’ll find that the Adoring Fan scarpers during any combat engagements, hiding behind a rock or a tree until you’ve dealt with any threats.
And yes, the Adoring Fan can be killed in Oblivion Remastered. Unfortunately, that’s not a permanent thing – he’ll come back three days after he’s killed, reborn by way of a favour from the gods, or something.
I’ve Lost the Adoring Fan
You’re not alone in that, trust me. Many people have run into issues with ‘losing’ the Adoring Fan in Oblivion over the years, whether by accident or as part of a cunning plan to detach themselves from his obsessive grip.
If you’ve lost the Adoring Fan (or you’ve sent him away), you can find him again by revisiting the Arena in the Imperial City. He’ll be waiting patiently for you to scoop him up again.
Even if you reject him when he first approaches you, he’ll hang around the Arena waiting for you to eventually accept his adoration.
