We all know it’s coming. Assassin’s Creed is one franchise that Ubisoft won’t toss aside, at least not yet, though they are splitting the community between stealth and RPG mechanics. What is Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the upcoming mainline series entry, following in the footsteps of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. It’s less about the stealth gameplay, though that will take a significant role in the overall gameplay, as it did in past entries, and more about exploration in the open world and RPG mechanics, like in recent titles. It appears Ubisoft intends to split the franchise down the middle, with both genres to appease both types of players.
As a fan of the more RPG-centric Assassin’s Creed titles, I’m excited to finally play one set in Feudal Japan. However, I genuinely hope the stealth-focused crowd receives one up to their standards soon enough. But hey, maybe Assassin’s Creed Shadows will merge the best of both worlds to be the one entry we all desire!
Either way, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is said to feature an expansive world, challenging yet rewarding combat, base-building mechanics, and two protagonists: Naoe and Yasuke. You’re likely not a samurai, however. Instead, we’ll most likely play as a ninja or Ronin.

It’s unfortunate but Ubisoft ultimately decided to delay Assassin’s Creed Shadows, despite the game being “feature complete” for a few more months of polish!
October 31st, 2024.
This seems like an old news with just the Release Date updated.
Ubisoft said no more Season pass, no more 3 Days Early Access, Day1 on Steam and only Uplay has the non-Standard Versions still available. On the other Storefronts they were removed (Epic, PSN, Xbox). My guess is they won’t sell those anymore and Uplay was not updated yet.
