What You Need to Know About the 7 Days to Die PS5 Release Date

With its recent announcement regarding the official 7 Days to Die 1.0 release date, we’ve also received word about a console update. Everyone awaiting the survival game’s content-complete state on other systems may not have to wait long. Here’s what you need to know about the 7 Days to Die PS5 release date!

When is the 7 Days to Die PS5 Release Date?

The PS5 release date of 7 Days to Die is scheduled to take place in July 2024, just a few weeks following the 1.0 release date on PC. That said, developer The Fun Pumps did provide themselves with a bit of leeway. They stated, in their developer blog, that they don’t have a precise release date for the console launch, but they’re aiming for just a matter of weeks after the PC launch. Either way, you won’t have to wait long to play 7 Days to Die on PS5!

Will 7 Days to Die Have Crossplay on Consoles?

This is another one that’s currently up in the air but planned. The Fun Pumps aims to offer crossplay support for 7 Days to Die between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S players. However, to proceed, they require certification approval from both Microsoft and Sony.

Furthermore, crossplay may not go live with the 1.0 console release date. It could take some time, though they hope to finalize everything in the coming weeks and launch the feature alongside everything else. Only time will tell!

Will 7 Days to Die Legacy Owners Receive the PS5 Update Free?

The Fun Pumps is currently working with Microsoft and Sony to provide a steep discount for 7 Days to Die legacy owners, as the 1.0 launch is so fundamentally different that it requires a separate version of the game altogether.

Unfortunately, legacy owners of the survival crafting game will not receive the PS5 update completely free. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the reality of working with Early Access titles like this one, which spent over a decade in EA!

Here at Insider Gaming, we’re long-time fans of the survival crafting genre, and 7 Days to Die is one of the originals in Early Access. While you wait for 1.0, check out some of our other game guides!
