As posted by @ValorLeaks on Twitter, the latest Valorant agent, named Gekko has been revealed. InsiderGaming understands the image was leaked just minutes after Riot Games sent out a new PR email about the agent.
What Are Gekko’s Abilities?
At this moment in time, Riot Games hasn’t officially revealed what Gekko’s abilities will be in Valorant. However, according to Riot Games’ John Goscicki, Gekko will have their own “eclectic way of dealing with situations,” with “new ways to check corners, reveal locations, and plant the spike.”
When is Gekko coming to Valorant?
Gekko will come to Valorant as a part of Episode 6, Act 2, which will release on March 7, 2022. As Gekko was released to the press and content creators yesterday, we should hear more official information on Gekko in the near future.
In fact, Riot Games has already teased that we could be getting some more information later today.
Valorant is a free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter developed and published by Riot Games with an estimated 23 million players per month. Late last year, it was discovered in a job listing that Riot Games hopes to bring Valorant to consoles in the near future.
In the ‘required qualifications’ portion of the breakdown, it was requested that the applicants have:
- ‘Robust understanding of console FPS market’
- ‘Shipped or worked on at least one console-based AAA+ online competitive game’
- ‘Experience developing on multiple platforms: PC, Mobile, and Console’
