According to a new report by The Hollywood Reporter, the Until Dawn movie adaptation has added new cast members including the return of Peter Stormare.
Stormare is a popular actor with over 200 credits, appearing in classic movies like Fargo. They also entered gaming with the Destiny series, playing Arach Jalaal. They played the iconic Dr. Hill in Supermassive Games’ original Until Dawn from 2015.
THR’s new report claims that “insiders say that in a callback to the game, Stormare is reprising his role of therapist Dr. Hill.” However, at this time, the studios did not officially confirm the roles of the new cast members.
In addition to Peter Stormare, other new cast members now reportedly include Maia Mitchell and Belmont Cameli. Fans may recognize Mitchell from The Fosters, and Cameli from the recent iteration of Saved by the Bell.
The Hollywood Reporter previously revealed Until Dawn’s movie adaptation in January 2024.
David F. Sandberg, the director of Shazam, Lights Out, and Annabelle: Creation, is attached to direct Until Dawn. Screen Gems and PlayStation Productions partnered for the adaptation.
Stormare’s return in particular should build some buzz, and it may open the door for other original Until Dawn cast members to return in some way.
On the gaming side, Until Dawn’s anticipated new version from Ballistic Moon just got an ESRB rating this week. The rebuilt version is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 in Fall 2024.
