Think about the variety of fantasy and adventure stories and movies, such as The Lord of the Rings or O Brother, Where Art Though? They all have something in common: a party of characters to share in the adventure. It’s often better to delve into the unknown with a friend or a small group of friends, making managing challenges easier. With that in mind, is Towerborne multiplayer? The adventure of a lifetime could use a competent party!
Can You Play Towerborne Co-op?
First and foremost, you can play Towerborne multiplayer, with a co-op mode supporting a party of four players journeying across the lands beyond The Belfry. There are plenty of excellent reasons why you should play Towerborne co-op, such as party composition, overcoming challenging bosses, and the fun factor, of course. But it’s not a requirement. If you’d rather play solo, you can venture out alone. You can even make life a little easier by recruiting companions, known as Umbra, that complement your abilities with unique skills and combat prowess.

How to Play Multiplayer in Towerborne
To play Towerborne cooperatively, you must complete the game’s opening prologue and tutorial sequence. Here, you’ll create your character and follow Courage, learning the game’s fighting mechanics as you defeat Gobos. Once you unlock the World Map and its various missions, such as Discovery Missions, during A Return to Form, you’ll have the opportunity to match with other players tackling the same tiles as you.
From current experience, the matchmaking doesn’t appear to work as intended. No matter how long we matchmake, we never party up with anyone else. It’s an Early Access game, though. Surely—hopefully very soon—we’ll receive a fix. Otherwise, you can invite players and friends to your party using the social menu, which you can access by hitting ‘Tab’ and then ‘E’ on your keyboard or the “View” button on your Xbox Series X|S controller and then ‘RB’ to access the social menu.
We’ll update this guide and you as we continue playing the game!
Towerborne is an interesting game thus far, with a heavy focus on repeating content in an effort to acquire better, more powerful loot. It’s certainly a grind, but one we’re open to currently!
