The Super Mario Bros Movie is the biggest movie release of 2023. In just nine days from its theatrical release, The Super Mario Bros Movie from Illumination and Nintendo has surpassed $500M in global box office sales.
In the United States, the movie has brought in $260.3M. Internationally, it has $248.4M in ticket sales.
In addition to being the highest-grossing movie of 2023, The Super Mario Bros Movie has taken over as the top video game adaptation globally. Thus far, its performance has pushed it past Pokemon Detective Pikachu ($433M) and Warcraft ($439M). It’s also the second-best-performing animated movie since 2019. It only trails Minions: The Rise of Gru which pulled in $942.5M globally.
Based on early numbers, it could be assumed that it will surpass $1B before it’s all said and done.
