The Hood has been confirmed as the next hero to join the ever-growing roster of Marvel Rivals, as he’s due to arrive this Friday alongside Season 9.5 of the hero shooter.
As expected, the news was presented during the latest rendition of the Dev Vision, and it’s good news for Vanguard fans—he’s joining as a tank! This follows from the colossal updates made with Season 9, where the Team-Up mechanics were entirely reworked.
The Hood & Season 9.5 Details
Not only was it confirmed that The Hood is a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals, but we also got an overview of his move set, as well as other updates due to arrive in Season 9.5.
Funnily enough, his character was one of the many Marvel Rivals leaks all the way back when the game originally released in 2024, and judging by the gameplay, he plays incredibly similarly to how it was expected. His dual guns are at the center of his kit, as he lays down relentless fire on his foes.
However, his abilities don’t stop there, as the Oblivion Cloak not only provides protective bubbles for allies but also hurls dark magic orbs that warp into protective barriers. Parker Robbins can enter a half-demonic state, transforming his arms into demonic rifles, or go full gun demon for his Ultimate, firing a blast that pierces anyone in its path whilst also healing nearby teammates.
It looks like The Hood is sure to mix up the play in Season 9.5 of Marvel Rivals, but that’s not all you can look forward to, as a new wave of Summer Skins is on the way on August 13. To top it off, you can expect the game’s file size to see a healthy reduction of 40GB on PC, and 15GB on console.
