Tekken 8 Kazuya Trailer Unveils Electrifying New Gameplay

The latest character trailer for Tekken 8 is all about the series’ villainous devil dead, Kazuya Mishima.

The new two-minute trailer gives us a chance to admire Kazuya’s slick new look with plenty of gameplay. The bulk of the footage shows him laying a beatdown on his son, Jin Kazama. Standard fare for Tekken dynasties, we assure you.

Kazuya looks to have a heavily reworked moveset in this entry, with a major emphasis on his devil form and crushing, electricity-empowered blows. The trailer also gives us a look at Kazuya’s transformation into Devil Jin mid-fight as he strings together kicks and punches with supernatural attacks.

The conclusion is a showcase of his Rage Art special move. The flashy animation involves him unleashing his inner devil to laser beam his opponent into the air before slamming them back down with a powerful strike.

After being thrown off a cliff at the age of five by his father Heihachi, Kazuya began as the series protagonist in the original Tekken. However, he swiftly began to shift into the role of villain in further releases. He now acts as the primary antagonist to his son Jin Kazama.

The eighth mainline entry will also see the long-awaited return of Jun Kazama, Jin’s mother and the once love interest of Kazuya.

Tekken 8 was first announced in a surprise gameplay reveal at The Game Awards last year. Kazuya Mishima’s trailer follows on from the gameplay reveal for gun-toting assassin Nina Williams, which was released two weeks ago.

What do you think of the new Tekken 8 Trailer?

Tekken 8 is set to release in 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
