Escape from Tarkov’s Snow is Coming on December 10

Escape from Tarkov is out on the open market now after hitting 1.0 midway through November, but that doesn’t mean that Battlestate Games is finished with it. There are plans to release DLC, other games in the Tarkov universe, and to support the core extraction shooter experience with regular updates, including weather updates.

The latest seasonal change is set to arrive on December 10, per a recent update by Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov. It was stressed that snow is coming then, blanketing Tarkov in a glorious layer of white that will most likely deafen gamers with loud, crunching noises.

Snow is Coming Back to Tarkov

Snow is a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing in Escape from Tarkov. For many, it’s a gorgeous addition to Battlestate Games’ extraction shooter that infinitely improves the game’s aesthetic. For others, it’s a tactical nightmare that renders most outfits impossible to wear and disrupts hearing on account of the too-loud snowy footsteps audio.

However you feel about snow in Escape from Tarkov, it won’t change the fact that it’s coming, and it’s going to be here very soon.

In a post on social media, Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio at Battlestate Games, confirmed that snow is coming on December 10:

Snow first arrived in Escape from Tarkov a few years ago, and since then, it has become an annual staple. It serves as one of the major graphical overhauls that follows the seasonal path. Battlestate Games follows the typical calendar, and from summer to fall, then from winter to spring, the foliage, ambient sounds, and weather patterns all change to reflect the time of year.
