T1 Name K-pop Star FIFTY FIFTY’s Athena as Valorant Ambassador

T1 has announced that Athena, one of the idols in K-pop group FIFTY FIFTY, has become a Valorant ambassador for the esports organisation.

The South Korean organisation is looking to grow its audience, having also signed popular Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo as a content creator last month.

FIFTY FIFTY have around 6.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with their song ‘Cupid’ racking up over 1.1 billion plays.

Meanwhile, T1’s VCT Pacific team are having a mixed season, having attended Valorant Masters Santiago earlier in the year but then missed out on Masters London.

Athena’s Valorant Fandom

This isn’t a random celebrity endorsement. Athena is a very keen Valorant fan and a strong player too, as she peaked at Immortal 1, 97 RR.

Though Athena admitted in the ambassador announcement video that her rank has tanked because of her busy idol schedule.

According to the K-pop star, she usually plays smokes and has named Astra, Sage, and Vyse as her favorite Agents.

Athena had appeared in a Valorant video with T1 back in November in their VALORANT One-Day Class video.

Now, she has been named T1’s official ambassador and immediately shared her excitement after learning of her new role:

“It’s been about four to five years since I started playing Valorant. And since day one, I’ve always wanted to do something official with Valorant… And getting to do this with such an iconic team like T1 it literally feels like a dream come true. I’m so happy.”
